McCormick out of Exeter game

Plymouths capitan Luke McCormick is out injured for the away game against Exeter.
McCormick 33 who has been a crucial part of the Plymouth team this year has sprained his ankle in training and looks set to be out for 4-5 weeks.
Marc McCallum or Vincent Dorel will look to replace McCormick.
Tough blow man! Hopefully his replacement can do the job and deputise well
Exeter (A)

Exeter 3 (Cain 52, Wheeler 61, Stacey 68)
Plymouth 1 (Carey 55)

In the first devon derby of the season we surprisingly lost to a much unfancied Exeter side. We made a few changes to the side that beat Cambridge at home, McCormick was injured so Marc McCallum came into make his debut, Sarcevic and Smith came into the middle with Carey shifted out onto the left and Gary Sawyer took the captains armband.

The game started very slow and both teams were fairly nervy, Michael Cain had a shot blasted over the bar early on. Arnold Garita should of made it 1-0 after being out through one on one with the goalkeeper he could only put his shot wide.

The first goal of the game came after half time when a cross was headed out by Sawyer and the ball fell to Cain on the edge of the box to smash home. We equalised shortly after when Graham Carey's first time shot found the top corner of the Exeter goal to make it 1-1.

David Wheeler made it 2-1 to City after a cross wasn't dealt by McCallum and he parried the ball straight to Wheelers feet, it was shocking goalkeeping and McCallum should of done much better! Wheeler should of wrapped the game up after a poor pass from Garita was dispossessed and a long ball over the top found Wheeler who chipped the ball over the keeper and the goal. Jack Stacey then spared Wheelers blushes when he fired a shot across goal from close range to seal the three points for Exeter.

Plymouth starting line up:
McCallum, Packwood, Sheaf, Bradley, Sawyer, Kennedy (Tanner 61), Sarcevic, Smith (Donaldson 50), Carey, Garita, Healey (Taylor 53)

Unused subs: Songo'o, Spencer, Fox, Therlkeld.

Exeter starting line up:
Olejnik, Kenney, Dickie, Moore-Taylor, Lowe, Stacey (Taylor 84), James, Cain, Watkins (Grant 79), Reid (Wheeler 55), McAlinden.

Unused subs: Pym, Sweeney, Parrish, Oakley.

POTM: Michael Cain- Scored a wonderful goal and started most of Exeters attacks.

Attendance: 7,844 (1,053)

Referee: David Webb
mgriffin2012: Awful blow mate and an awful display from McCallum, might have to dip into the free transfer market. Watch this space.

Plymouth sign Davies

Plymouth have signed 21 year old Welsh goalkeeper Oliver Davies on a 2 year contract after his release from Swansea City.

He was on the books at Swansea for 7 years which also included a loan spell at Kilmarnock last season. He will go straight into contention for Saturdays home game against Hartlepool.
Should be a good replacement, looks more than capable!
A big signing for Plymouth. He'll be a big boost on your.... Plymgrimage.
