Hello, lads! Welcome to my very first Football Manager story!
First of all, I would like to apologize for any grammatical mistakes, I confess I’m a bit rusty. Feel free to correct me!
And also apologize for wrongly posting this story on the Football Manager 2017 section, as I do not own it and, instead, am playing the 2016 version. Why, did I do this, you ask? Well, for three reasons, mainly. Number one, due to licensing issues, SEGA and Sports Interactive decided to not sell the latest version on Brazilian lands, which is where I live. Two, I couldn’t possibly afford it anyway, so I’m happy with my original ’16. And three, I probably wouldn’t have alot of feedback, if any, in case I had posted it where I should’ve. Assuming that the moderators feel this doesn’t seem right and the topic should be moved or even removed, be my guest! Without further ado... A quick introduction to my love, Vasco da Gama.
Club de Regatas Vasco da Gama is a famous and traditional Brazilian multi-sports club from Rio de Janeiro. Founded on August 21, 1898, by Portuguese immigrants, it is one of the most popular clubs in Brazil, with more than 20 million supporters. Vasco’s history is amongst the most worthy and virtuous out there, a club that brought black and poor people into the game, at a time when only the rich and, in Rio de Janeiro’s case, the white were publicly accepted. Besides presenting such uncommon opportunity to those, Vasco da Gama annoyed its fellow rivals, Flamengo and Fluminense, both founded by the richest carioca faces, as they managed to be champions on their debut, 1923, in the “Carioca Championship”, a Rio de Janeiro traditional and charming regional competition. Despite all the attempts from the rivals to shut the Giant down, Vasco da Gama managed to overcome racism and prejudice, establishing deep roots on the national football scene.
Their home stadium is the historical São Januário, with a maximum capacity of 21.880, which was funded and built mostly by the mutual effort of the poor strata, passionate supporters of the club.
Vasco da Gama is also one of the most successful Brazilian teams, having won the following titles, among others:
Brazilian National League {Brasileirão Série A} – 1974, 1989, 1997, 2000 (4) Brazilian Cup {Copa do Brasil} – 2011 (1)
Although, their recent history has been deeply damaged, having faced three relegations in eight years (2008, 2013 and 2015)
Below, some quotes from football legends and stars, in regards to Club de Regatas Vasco da Gama:
“If Vasco fights for my race, that is the team I support”- Mario Balotelli
“That final against Vasco, in ’98, was the hardest game of my life”- Raúl, Real Madrid legend
“I was watching the Vasco and United game in the 2000 Club World Cup and heard the Brazilian supporters chanting “Vasco! Vasco!”. That was fantastic, I started chanting with them”- Thierry Henry, the King.
“My dream is to end my career at Vasco”- Florent Malouda
“The team of my heart had always been Vasco”- Pelé, the Brazilian King
“We expected to play against eleven, but we ended up facing eighty-thousand. I had no idea a crowd like that existed”Sir Alex Ferguson, after being defeated in the FIFA Clubs World Cup

That will be all for now fellas’, I hope you all enjoyed this introductory post. I might continue depending on whether a 2016 story will be looked upon favourably in this section or not. If not, oh well, that is unfortunate. In case the worst happens, I'm saving this post for a future attempt, perhaps using the 2018 version, granted that SEGA and SI revert the current situation. Cheers!
Good luck, I'll be following! Any kind of FM story is welcome here in this section, we only really change sections from FM16 -> FM17 to replicate the 'seasons', as they were. With regards to your bbcodes, you've got a

Good luck man, youve made a solid start to this story and like Justice said it doesnt matter if its on FM16! If you can make it work for you, go for it!
Looking forward to where this goes and seeing how you do!
I'm looking forward to this mate, I'm glad you've written a little introduction as many new users tend to just start with a very basic post, but this has caught my eye straight away. Wish you luck!

Hey Scott, thank you, lad! Yeah, I tried my best to include enough interesting and essential information in there while not making it a very long and boring read. It’s my first story so I didn’t know what to expect really, but glad you enjoyed it!
I'm sorry for the late replies, been kinda busy lately due to massive modifications of my routine, which means I will be taking considerably much longer to post new updates. And also deciding which writing path I shall take, whether I should focus on newsletter pieces, specific POV, roleplays or even a mix of all that. Still on it, though!
