Lyon's Génésio Dismissed
16/06/17

Olympique Lyonnais manager Bruno Génésio has been sacked in an extraordinary development that few saw coming.
The 50 year old has been in charge of the side since December 2015 and steered the club to a 4th placed finish last season but this morning Lyon released a statement detailing the termination of Génésio's contract. The cause at this time is unknown, although disagreements with the board over the club's vision appears to be the likeliest.

Applications for Génésio's replacement are expected to be received shortly, with Lyon looming as a challenge for managers looking to break the duopoly of Paris and Monaco. A favourite at this stage is former Manchester United boss Louis van Gaal, who is reportedly keen to return to management and manage a team in France.
