complicated outcome from brexit- help!

Evening,
I am now in Dec 2019 and have been told what will hapen when the UK leaves the EU. The explanation is extremely long-winded and not one i have seen on a forum before. I have read about a soft or hard brexit but this doesnt appear to be either? Can anyone tell me if this is something that has happened to them? also if someone is able to explain it in the simplest term possible, i would really appreciate it, I cant even figure how to attach an image on this! but basically, it is a point system, where a player needs at least 4 points to get a work permit. anyone seen this?

The work permit situation is very common in many different Brexit scenarios. Personally I only play one save per FM but in both FM17 and FM18, where I got two different Brexit scenarios, the work permit situation has come up. Basically for a non-EU player to get a work permit now, a number of things must be checked off the list. In short, it needs to be a combination of some of (but not all of) a very expensive transfer, a very high wage, or he must be a current international.

In short, when looking at a potential non-EU signing, cross-reference the details of the transfer with the points system, which you can see at any time in the Rules section of your league, and hope that the points add up to 4. If you can't get a work permit, you can always sign him anyway and then loan him to Spain for two years. Spain has the joint-lowest time required for a work permit, so he would be able to play for your club after two seasons on loan there.

In my save this year for FM18, Brexit also brought in a rule where all British clubs require 17 home grown players in their squad, so the work permit situation isn't the worst thing in the world anyway Thankfully I'm not managing in Britain either, that would be a pain of a rule!

Cheers mate, that make sense. but does that mean that post brexit, the loaning off to spain for 2 years wont work because being spanish would be non uk and spanish players will need a work permit?

As long as he holds European nationality, I believe it should be no problem to get a work permit (if one is even required for a European national). As in my previous comment, it may be the case that only non-Europeans require work permits, unless Brexit turned out really anal in your save.
