OK, i'm frustrated. I'm brilliant with FM 12, but FM 17??? I was in a total shock when i switched from FM 12 to FM 17 and IT happens yesterday. Everything is different. "More realistic", i don't know about that. Here's my little story. I started with Salford City. Oh, sorry, it's not a GLORY FM STORY yet. Can someone explain why Salford City is on top of the division after 10 games???? I know i can't. Three different tactics were used since 'day one" and only the "last" is based on players, not on philosophies. I use to rule FM 12. Using 41221 i had a great time with Vauxhall, Dag & Red, Sheffield Utd, Luton Town, Xeres, Telstar and so on... I started FM 17 after a lot of reading on the subject. Right about now i begin to understand the tactical idea of the game. So my question is - why is my tactic working? It's experimental and so on...but WHY. Here is the tactic:
TWO DEFENSIVE CENTER BACKS/Simond Grand and Corbin Shires from Mansfield/
ON THE LEFT - WING BACK ATTACK/ Patrick Brough from Carlisle/ NO BACK UP
ON THE RIGHT FULL BACK SUPPORT/ Jack Robinson from FC Halifax
TWO MC'S - BALL WINNING MIDFIELDER/DEFEND and CENTRAL MIDFIELDER/SUPPORT/ David Norris and Nick Naughton from Fleetwood Town
RIGHT WINGER/ATTACK /James Poole or Mike Phenix
AMC as ADVANCED PLAYMAKER/ATTACK George Green from Burnley or Nick Naughton from Fleetwood Town.
TWO FC'S - DEFENSIVE FORWARD/SUPPORT and ADVANCED FORWARD/ Kasheme Walton and Adam Edgar.
THE TACTICS:
STANDART/CONTROL
STRUCTURED
FAIRLY NARROW
SLIGHTLY DEEPER
STAY ON FEET
EXPLOIT THE RIGHT FLANK
PASS INTO SPACE
MORE DIRECT PASSING
BE MORE DISCIPLINED
LOOK FOR OVERLAP
RUN AT DEFENCE
STICK TO POSITIONS
