The Toon Army

I have decided to make a save with Newcastle, they have always been a club I've had a soft spot as they've got a fantastic fan base and in recent years it's safe to say it's been rather turbulent for the Tyneside club, it's my aim to stabilise the club and get them to the levels where they used to be on a regular basis competing in Europe and not just that, go on to dominate Europe and England. It's going to be an interesting proposition but we've got solid foundations with a fantastic stadium with a brilliant fan base and good facilities behind the scenes which give us a good standing to improve on.

We've been given a budget of £25Million and a remaining wage budget of £215k per week, so a solid budget really to help us to bring in some good additions, now there is going to be plenty of transfers in and out as I shape the squad how I like it as there is plenty of players which I don't think bring the right quality for the premier league. There is a decent depth but as I've stated, plenty of it is Championship quality and not premier league quality.

My aim for this first season is to secure a Europa League spot and build on from there. As you will also most likely know, the club is up for sale so I'm excited to see what a change of ownership will bring and hopefully stabilise the club even more. I'm looking to play some attractive attacking football, I will post screenshots of the tactics I will use in my next update which will be the end of Pre-Season with Transfers.

Pre-Season Update

So as you can see there has been plenty of transfer activity this summer, got rid of players which I knew wasn't going to feature for me and added quality and depth into the team. I've also signed a few good upcoming stars for the future as we don't really have any amazing starlets in our youth setup so I've added a few good young players. I'm massively happy with the signings of Cutrone and Benedetto upfront, I believe Cutrone can lead the front line for many years to come and we've added experience with Benedetto. Fullbacks have been massively upgraded, didn't really like the look of any of them so made a massive overhaul in that department and it looks so much better.

Solid pre-season got most of the players to gel and most importantly got the match fitness for the league, I'm hoping we can build on a solid pre-season and make a good start to the season with the first game being against a strong Tottenham side.

As you can see it's a fairly solid squad with plenty of depth, I think its been largely improved from the squad you start with and we've added quality in fundamental areas. I'm really looking forward to see how our first season pans out.

Just thought I'd share the three tactics I plan to use throughout the season, as you can see I'm looking to play an attacking based possession style football, I think this will stand us in good stead going forward.

Not the greatest start to my managerial career at Newcastle, we really should have beat Brighton, we managed a good win against Fulham, however, we got a couple of batterings against Tottenham & Leicester. I thought we would have been more competitive against Tottenham but we were outplayed from start to finish. The drubbing against Leicester was partly down to the very weak side I had fielded to keep some of our key players fresh but we should have given a better performance. Now we've got a difficult start in September beginning with Liverpool thankfully though it is at home and I hope that gives us a bit of an edge but it's going to be a hard match to come back with any sort of result.

Great start to this story, well done. A lot of business conducted so it will definitely take time for some cohesion to be built and consistency to come in. A solid start to the season.
Plenty of transfer activity, plenty of youngsters coming in! Óliver might just be your biggest coup, he's a superb addition to the squad. I'm also a huge fan of Cutrone & Tonali, hopefully they'll prove to be your 'Italian Stallions' in the coming season.
A very busy summer and a steady start to the new season but that might just be what Newcastle need!
Always love a Newcastle Story as a proud Geordie they are the team I usually manage, them and Gateshead, glad to see some deadwood move out and young talent moved in. If you did not sell him, never underestimate Paul Dummett adn his solid if unspectacular defending
