During the first season with Leeds United I received a scout recommendation for Johannes Eggestein available on a free transfer. When trying to sign him he wanted me to promise that the club will gain promotion to the premier league in the 20/21 season. I was comfortably in mid table at the time so didn't think anything of it and he signed.
A run of really good results in the second half of the season saw us finish in second and gain automatic promotion. First season in the premier league was nothing special but Eggestein became first choice striker with 7 goals in 26 appearances. Now the season I've just finished he was the leagues top scorer with 23 (27 in all comps) the future is looking bright. He comes to me when the season ended complaining that i didn't keep my promise and now wants to leave and is refusing to sign a new contract. The promise was to gain promotion to the premier league but we have just finished 8th and won the FA cup beating Southampton 4-3.
Has anyone else had something like this? it seems a little ridiculous to me
