To clarify.. That is not me on the picture, lol.. Just a random guy who looked happy :)

Important!: If you are confused about the story, read my past stories from FM16, Here and FM17, Here

Madsen stopped his managerial career, due to illness. The season before he had taken Oxford United out of League 2, and into League 1. But just right before the start of the season, Madsen had health problems and decided to retire for 6 months. He then came back healthy and happy. Now 2 months later he resigned and decided to retire, due to illness. Again. We asked Madsen what it means, and why.

Oliver Madsen:
‘’ I’m very sad about it. I didn’t want it to come this far. But when my body says stop, I have to listen to it. I just couldn’t get up in the morning and be fresh and happy the whole day. My concentration was gone and It hurts in almost every limb in my body. Now I just need a break, and then we see what will happen in the future.’’

Rumours are going around that Madsen is getting a lot better, and he might be ready to do another comeback in the football world. He hasn’t made an interview or statement that he’s back but recent photos of him, looking really happy and healthy, has started a lot of rumours, of him getting back out there.

We tried to get an interview with Madsen but he wanted privacy and said no.

Oliver Madsen posted on his twitter 1 hour ago that he is in fact ready for the football world. He feels healthy and motivated to get back. Madsen managed Oxford United 3 years ago, and got promoted to League 1, before he retired twice. Madsen moved back to Denmark 7 months ago, and is rumoured to revive his career back in Denmark. We asked Madsen where he saw him managing now.

Oliver Madsen:
‘’Well… I really don’t know. I understand that a football club would be anxious to hire me, because of the risk of me getting ill again, OR worried that i just doesn’t have new training and tactic methods. I would love to manage a club here in Denmark but it Is unlikely. I will see what the world has to offer, and then decide from there.’’

Rumours are suggesting Danish clubs, OB and Hobro IK, but rumours also say he might get back to Oxford and help them out of their miseries.

Madsen Joins French Ligue 2 side US Orléans

US Orléans Football Club, has now posted on twitter that former Oxford United manager, Oliver Madsen has now officially joined their side. No information giving yet, but rumours are saying, that it is a 1-year contract with a risk-clause that US Orléans will get compensation if he resign or get sick, before his contract ends.

We asked Madsen to comment a few words on his new appointment.

Oliver Madsen ( Manager ):
I am very excited for this opportunity. I am very proud of despite me being sick for 2½ years, i come back and get a contract from a very respectful side like US Orléans are. I am looking forward to meeting everyone at the club and the day-to-day challenge of competing in the Ligue 2. We also asked Madsen what his objectives was with this new team

Union Sportive Orléans Loiret Football is a French football club located in the city, Orléans. In the small region called Loiret. It was originally formed in 1920, named Arago Orléans Sports, but it was not until 1970s the club put their name on the map, when they were promoted out of the region levels and into the Division 3. In 1976 they were out of funds and leadership, but they were luckily rescued, and later joined the Athletic Union Orléans, a sports club. They were named US Orléans Arago, as a football team under the sports club. In 1978 the owners of the team split up and all left the club, but US Orléans later took the sporting continuity of Arago in Division 3 and won it the same year.

Next year they climbed to division 2 and has been a professional club since 1980s. In 1980 they achieved the greatest achievement yet. They reached the final of the Coupe De France, which they unfortunately lost 3-1 to AS Monaco. In 1992 US Orléans were relegated administratively and was placed in liquidation. They now found themselves in the worst league, Regional 3. They managed to keep a good youth and facilities, and in 2002 they just kept rising, and haven’t been relegated since that year. In 2010 Orléans won the CFA and 4 years later they won the National, which is 3rd tier. The team became a professional club again In 2014 when they got promoted to Ligue 2.
Keep turning that ship around Ol!
Good luck!
Good luck with Orleans mate!
A club with a lot of promise I am sure, hopefully they'll be headed towards the top sooner rather than later
