Madsen stopped his managerial career, due to illness. The season before he had taken Oxford United out of League 2, and into League 1. But just right before the start of the season, Madsen had health problems and decided to retire for 6 months. He then came back healthy and happy. Now 2 months later he resigned and decided to retire, due to illness. Again. We asked Madsen what it means, and why.
Oliver Madsen:
‘’ I’m very sad about it. I didn’t want it to come this far. But when my body says stop, I have to listen to it. I just couldn’t get up in the morning and be fresh and happy the whole day. My concentration was gone and It hurts in almost every limb in my body. Now I just need a break, and then we see what will happen in the future.’’

Rumours are going around that Madsen is getting a lot better, and he might be ready to do another comeback in the football world. He hasn’t made an interview or statement that he’s back but recent photos of him, looking really happy and healthy, has started a lot of rumours, of him getting back out there.
We tried to get an interview with Madsen but he wanted privacy and said no.
Now...
Oliver Madsen posted on his twitter 1 hour ago that he is in fact ready for the football world. He feels healthy and motivated to get back. Madsen managed Oxford United 3 years ago, and got promoted to League 1, before he retired twice. Madsen moved back to Denmark 7 months ago, and is rumoured to revive his career back in Denmark. We asked Madsen where he saw him managing now.
Oliver Madsen:
‘’Well… I really don’t know. I understand that a football club would be anxious to hire me, because of the risk of me getting ill again, OR worried that i just doesn’t have new training and tactic methods. I would love to manage a club here in Denmark but it Is unlikely. I will see what the world has to offer, and then decide from there.’’
Rumours are suggesting Danish clubs, OB and Hobro IK, but rumours also say he might get back to Oxford and help them out of their miseries.
