Rehhagel had massive success as a manager, making Werder Bremen a Bundesliga powerhouse, dethroning Bayern Munich with relegated Kaiserslautern and most famously winning the 2004 European Championship with Greece.
Your challenge is to replicate Otto’s success, your challenge is as follows;
First you must take over a lower tabled side in either Italy, Spain or Germany.
Season 1; Must finish in top 6.
Season 2; Round of 16 in Champions League or Quarter Finals of Europa League.
The whole point of this challenge is to be consistent. Otto managed to take Werder Bremen and mold them into consistent challengers across all domestic competitions by reaching multiple cup finals and being title contenders. Within 5 seasons you need to change your side into Domestic League Champions while also being in at least two domestic cup finals within that time span.
You have 2 more seasons to achieve the following; Win a European competition and set a domestic record for least goals conceded.
After you have achieved the following you must move onto another club within the same league where in the previous season that team was relegated.
Otto’s Kaiserslautern side are the only team in German history to win the league the season after being promoted. You are to do the same. The season after that you must reach the quarter finals of the champions league.
That is the end of the club challenge. If you wish to continue the challenge next is taking on the international management;
Greece were ranked in the mid-30’s in the world at the time Otto took over. Based off of this ranking you are allowed to take over the following sides; Austria, Ireland, Slovakia, Romania, Northern Ireland, Serbia, Turkey, Iceland and Russia.
Once you are managing one of these national sides you have exactly two opportunities to win a European Championship. The Nations League does not count.
Well then, good luck to you and no cheating!
