Kana is a great signing and if he performs for you as well as he did in my Wolves save, you'll have an absolute bargain there.

As someone that has an affinity for Hajduk Split, it's nice to see you sign Domagoj. Really good player, should be a good option for your team when attacking too. Kana is a little bit undersized to be a CB in my opinion, he's a much better DM for me. Interested to see how you develop him!

The building blocks are certainly falling into place. It’s good to see you hammering through the transfer market to build your team.

Two Goalkeepers Arrive At 1860 Munich

Alban Lafont is set to take over Marcin Bulka as the 1860 Munich goalkeeper

• Alban Lafont arrives at the club for a fee of €1,600,000 from Fiorentina
• The highly touted Ivan Martinez spent last season with Numantia in the Spanish Second Division
• 1860 Munich will now head to Poland for four pre-season matches.

Continuing to fix their defence after conceding the second most goals in the Bundesliga last season, 1860 Munich have brought in goalkeepers Alban Lafont and Ivan Martinez ahead of the 2022/23 season.

After starting for Fiorentina in 2018/19 season, Lafont spent two years on loan with FC Nantes before returning to Fiorentina for the 2021/22 season where he was the back up goalkeeper behind Mike Maignan who was on loan from Inter Milan.

Daniel Bierofka has also added the highly touted Spanish goalkeeper Ivan Martinez for a fee of €1,500,000 with a look towards the future. Full of potential, the 20-year-old has spent the past six years playing amongst the Spanish lower leagues before securing a move to Germany.

“I am thrilled to be able to bring Alban and Ivan into our squad, both were proven to be extremely talented at a young age and I am really looking forward to working with them.” said Bierofka. “We have built some great depth in the squad, something we have not been able to do in the past due to being a smaller team but surviving relegation has given us greater capacity financially for the upcoming season.” he added.

In securing two highly talented goalkeepers, it is expected that either the starting goalkeeper from last season in Marcin Bulka or long term back up Marco Hiller will leave the club by the end of the transfer window.

Jack, ScottT & Justice: I have to be on the cheaper side with a lot of areas to address in the squad

tedbro20: Hope we can avoid the drop, a lot of financial commitments to maintain now with the recent upgrades

Eoin97: I’ll ask the board just for you haha

TheLFCFan: I would be keen to know how you used Kana and improved him in your save

J_ames: Any information you have on Domagoj would be great, Kana is on the shorter side but I feel very capable
Two absolute fantastic bargains to pick up. That’s your goalkeeper positions filled for the next 10+ years!

An excellent selection of keepers there that should be a massive boost. Doing really well with brining in these highly rated players for such a low fee that then if need be should be able to sell for a small fortune in a couple of seasons

This really is turning into one of the best transfer windows I have seen in a long while. The amount of quality that you have brought in for such low expenditure is incredible!

Another set of great signings there, bit of a masterclass in terms of transfer dealings here!

In regards to Kana, his mentals were already pretty incredible, especially for his age, so I didn't do much in terms of mentoring. I trained him as a DM in the DLP (defend) role as I was a bit worried about his height as a CB. He's played over 50 games for me now and at age 20 I'd say he's one of the best DM's in the League.

You're certainly finding some amazing talent for minimal fees. Yet more fantastic improvements to the squad brought in.

Domagoj has accumulated over €55.5m in fees in my current save.
  • His move from Hajduk to Lille - €6.5m.
  • Lille to Marseille - €5.5m.
  • Marseille to Arsenal - €22m.
  • And finally, Arsenal to Watford - €21.5m.
I'd play him as a LWB (S) personally, as his crossing is top notch. He also has the work rate and stamina to get up and down the left touchline for 90-minutes nonstop. Very talented youngster irl, probably one of the best to come off the production line at Hajduk in recent years.

2022/23 Pre-Season

-----

Results

It was a tough pre-season for 1860 Munich in Poland, coming away with two wins and two losses as new players looked to learn a new system. 19-year-old Eduardo Camavinga was the best performing player for 1860 Munich, providing plenty of key passes throughout the four matches.

3. Liga side SC Preussen Munster await 1860 Munich in their DFB-Pokal first round fixture, a competition in which 1860 Munich performed admirably in last season being eliminated in the quarter final stage.
The Bundesliga season starts with a home fixture against Hertha Berlin, followed by a fixture against the recently promoted FC Augsburg. The last two fixtures of the month see 1860 Munich face two sides from last year’s top four in Bayer Leverkusen and Borussia Monchengladbach.

Justice: I saw the opportunity to bring in quality and couldn’t resist

tedbro20, Jack & ScottT: Really happy with my additions and the amount spent

TheLFCFan: Thanks for the information and chat, I will be implementing our discussion after sleeping on it

J_ames: I play him with the exact same set up and have found him as good as you have described
12/12 points or we riot.

Interesting to see how you fared in Poland for preseason against what I would say weaker opposition. That start to the season could've been a lot tougher so I'm with Justice on this one - 12/12 or we riot ;)

Two decent victories against some decent opposition. Not the best, but still decent nonetheless. The main thing is that the squad is fit and raring to go beside Mol. Some tricky fixtures but Augsburg and Hertha could present an opportunity or two to get some points on the board.

Going to be an interesting month after a tough pre-season. Excited to see how this team goes once gelled.
