Good to hear of Camavingas performances. He may be your key man this season.

It's going to be a tough season ahead but hopefully once everybody gets use to new tactics and gels on the pitch you'll be sorted

Tramoni Scores Extra Time Winner For 1860

Lisandru Tramoni sealed victory for 1860 Munich against SC Preussen Munster

1860 Munich 2 - 1 SC Preussen Munster

1860 Munich took the field with their starting line-up against SC Preussen Munster in their opening fixture of the DFB-Pokal and were put to the test by the 3. Liga side throughout the match.

Armel Bella-Kotchap opened the scoring in just the second minute for 1860 Munich, heading home a free kick from Robin Hack. From there, the match was riddled with fouls with seven players receiving yellow cards before Romario Roesch proved to be the saviour for SC Preussen Munster, scoring with one minute remaining in the match to see the fixture require extra time.

The fouls continued in extra time with four more players being shown a yellow card before Robin Hack intercepted a poor pass at the back from Philipp Hoffman, finding Musa Barrow who put Lisandru Tramoni into space for the match winning goal.

“I am pleased to be through to the next round of the competition but not pleased with the performance.” said 1860 Munich manager Daniel Bierofka. “The players clearly will need to step up ahead of the Bundesliga season starting next week.” he added.

SpVgg Greuther Furth await 1860 Munich in the second round of the DFB-Pokal with Die Löwen set to be out for revenue after being knocked out of the competition by SpVgg Greuther Furth two seasons ago.

Justice & Jack: You will just have to wait and see

ScottT & TheLFCFan: A tough pre-season that was not expected at all, I hope we are able to turn it around

Eoin97: A good early start for Camavinga, looking forward to him leading the way for us this season

tedbro20: I certainly hope so
A hard-fought battle but a win nonetheless! A good showing from Preussen, though. The next round will give you the opportunity to make past wrongs right.

Quite an early scare. Not what Daniel would have expected but at least progression was eventually sealed.

It's been tough so far this season and the league hasn't even begun yet, hopefully we can find some consistently good performances soon.

Results

After escaping with victory in the DFB-Pokal against 3. Liga side SC Preussen Munster, 1860 Munich got off to a great start to the Bundesliga season with a 2-1 victory over Hertha Berlin after a late winner from Fabian Greilinger.

In their first away fixture of the season against the recently promoted FC Augsburg, an own goal from goalkeeper Alban Lafont saw 1860 Munich only leave with one point, this was followed by another own goal, this time from defender Pedro Porro proving to be the difference against Borussia Monchengladbach.

In the final match of the month, 1860 Munich faced Bayer Leverkusen who had struggled at the start of the season with Die Löwen taking full advantage. After going into half time without either team scoring, it was a dominant display to see the 2021/22 Bundesliga runners-up lose by three goals.

Bundesliga

After the first month of action in the Bundesliga, Bayern Munich and last year’s champions RB Leipzig have gotten off to a strong start. At the bottom end of the table Bayer Leverkusen find themselves in poor form after finishing second last season.

Player Of The Month

Armel Bella-Kotchap

After being recently promoted to vice-captain of 1860 Munich after just one season with the club, Armel Bella-Kotchap has lifted his game to another level in August.

The 20-year-old central defender has contributed greatly in the good early form of his club, scoring two goals and receiving two player of the match awards.

Injury Report

Robin Hack

After injuring his ankle, Robin Hack will miss between one to two games for 1860 Munich and is expected to be replaced by the in-form Fabian Greilinger.

Fixtures

Only three matches await 1860 Munich in September as they face two mid-table sides at home in Schalke 04 and VfB Stuttgart with a match away from home against Bundesliga champions RB Leipzig set to be the toughest challenge of the month.

Justice: You and Jack may now commence rioting

ScottT & TheLFCFan: We certainly showed some worrying signs at the start of the season
Unfortunate result against Mönchengladbach, but a brilliant result against last years runners-up. I always assume that Leverkusen will be right near the top of the table, so it's a big surprise to see them where they are. Keep up the good work mate, hopefully a European qualification spot can be achieved this season

Some nice results to get you off to a quick start in the league. Long may it continue

A lovely start. Hope it can continue and then Europe will be beckoning.

A memorable victory against Leverkusen. That will be one supporters look back on fondly at the end of the season, definitely.
1
Can you stop the own goals please! ;) Good start and the team is looking a lot more together now. The test against Leipzig will be interesting.
1
You should be top. No question. ;)

Will be interesting to see how much progress you make this season. I have a sneaky feeling you might upset the apple cart.

That is some amazing progress for Die Lowen, but look at the bottom of the table... Press F to pay respects to Cologne.
