7 points from 12, I think you’d take that happily - especially considering the opposition. Could way to end the first portion of the season anyway, very high up in the league and still in the cup. January will be manic but your team should be fresher than some of the bigger clubs who will have almost their entire squads away at the World Cup.
A decent number of points acquired again that sees the league position remain extremely healthy. Following the break for the World Cup, it'll be tough for the players with such a demanding schedule. I hope it doesn't prove to be too costly as rotation and depth will be key.
A decent set of results in October and it looks like a busy schedule coming in November! I think your aims should be gunning more towards a top-half finish rather than survival now :P
Wonder how your squad will react after the WC 2022, that's some long time
No shame in losing to Bayern. A very good month for sure. A tough January is coming but every other team will also have a similar schedule so hopefully you can take advantage!
Another good month there but January is going to be a killer. Squad depth is going to be everything here.

Hack Double Sees 1860 Munich Progress

Robin Hack scored twice in 1860 Munich’s dominant victory over Hamburger SV

1860 Munich 4 - 1 Hamburger SV

Going into the third-round fixture in poor form and fatigued from fixture congestion, a tough contest was expected for 1860 Munich facing Bundesliga 2 league leaders Hamburger SV. The challenge was compounded by a goal from Hamburger SV in just the second minute when Bakery Jetta got on the end of a lofted through ball from Manuel Pherai to open the scoring. 1860 Munich captain Efkan Bekiroglu would respond almost immediately, scoring from a free kick just three minutes later.

From there a back and forth battle ensued before Robin Hack secured the lead for 1860 Munich scoring from a free kick just before half-time to give his side a one goal advantage heading into the break. Straight after half-time, Lisandru Tramoni crossed the ball into the box to Robin Hack who placed the ball in the back of the net to increase the lead to two. The final goal from 1860 Munich saw Tramoni produce another assist, playing through Pedro Porro to give the defender a one on one with Hamburger SV goalkeeper Julian Pollersbeck which sealed the victory.

“I am glad to have contributed to our progression in the DFB-Pokal and to find myself on the scoresheet for the first time this season.” said 1860 Munich winger Robin Hack. “Our side has performed above expectations so far while I have personally struggled for form, it feels great to be contributing once again.” he added.

The quarter-final draw for the DFB-Pokal sees 1860 Munich face Eintracht Frankfurt in a home fixture. Current Bundesliga leaders Bayern Munich have been drawn against last year’s Bundesliga and DFB-Pokal champions RB Leipzig in a marquee matchup.

Justice: I honestly did not think about the fatigue of the World Cup on the bigger sides, good point

ScottT & tedbro20: With the way I re-build clubs, squad depth is always an issue early on, staying healthy is key

Jack: Really happy with my current position, if I can make a few adjustments and get a little more out of the squad anything is possible

Wolf: It is like pressing the reset button on the season, all previous form no longer matters

TheLFCFan: Everyone is in the same boat, lets see who sinks and who swims
Great result against Hamburg, the break for the World Cup will allow your squad to rest up and get fit for when the league resumes. Could be a blessing in disguise and see a climb up the table for you.

An easy win in the cup there but a bigger challenge awaits against Frankfurt. It would be wonderful to see a cup run but when it's up against tough teams you sometimes have to cut your losses and place your focus elsewhere.

Great win in the cup. Be good to mount a cup run this season and get the players some experience playing in the later rounds of the cup
1
Easy street in the end. Frankfurt will provide a difficult challenge and by far the most difficult yet in the cup. It's still a somewhat decent draw though.

True mate, thinking at all what could be is useless, that makes it indeed more realistic.
1
A comfortable win in the end. That Bayern vs Leipzig game will at least knock out one of the favorites if you manage to overcome Frankfurt.

Results

1860 Munich endured a tough start to January with three straight losses in the Bundesliga, separated by victory in the DFB-Pokal against Hamburger SV.

Die Löwen would improve their form with two draws against Eintracht Frankfurt and Mainz 05 before finishing the month well with consecutive victories over SC Freiburg in which defender Armel Bella-KOtchap scored twice, followed by a 2-1 win over Hertha Berlin. In both wins, 1860 Munich managed to overcome a player being sent off in the final ten minutes of the game.

Bundesliga

Bayern Munich and Borussia Monchengladbach find themselves sharing the top of the Bundesliga table with a lead of five points over their nearest rival in RB Leipzig. Bayer Leverkusen have returned to form, seeing them get away from the relegation places for now, with manager Peter Bosz still remaining at the club.

-----

Player Of The Month

Robin Hack

After struggling for form and not scoring a single goal so far this season, a recent change in tactic from 1860 Munich manager Daniel Bierofka saw Hack produce five goals and two assists in seven matches.

Despite no interest being shown in him throughout last season as well as the latest January transfer period, the 24-year-old has continued to look for a potential move to a larger club whenever possible.

Injury Report

Herbert Paul

Pulling a calf muscle during training has seen the right back miss half of the month of January with four to eight days recovery still required until returning to action.

Fixtures

The congestion of fixtures which occurred in January carries over into the start of February with 1860 Munich playing four matches in eleven days. During this period, 1860 Munich face rivals FC Augsburg as well as playing in the DFB-Pokal quarter-final against Eintracht Frankfurt in two key fixtures for the fans.
The back end of February sees three straight Bundesliga fixtures for 1860 Munich with fixtures against Bayer Leverkusen who have slowly improved their performances, mid-table competitors Schalke 04 and the second placed RB Leipzig.

J_ames: Hopefully that is the case and the rest helps the squad push on further

Jack, tedbro20 & ScottT: Not sure on how to approach the cup fixture, my competitiveness usually takes over

Justice: Straight up FM Hacks for days!

Wolf: I will just have to adapt to whatever occurs

TheLFCFan: As a small team you need some luck of the draw to put together a good run in the cup
