Surprising sale but moves happen all the time in football. Let's see what Luke can pull out of the hat to impress!
A lot more than he's worth I think. Cracking business on CSKA's part.
Cracking fee for Mbemba tbh, he's certainly not worth that kind of money. Just too small to be a 'top class' CB in the game, despite having impressive physicals. Need to have the mentals of a Cannavaro to be a top class midget CB
Gotta love the casual transition into regular football stories after horrific drama and tension haha
Still got the physical ability to be a great addition but I can't imagine him being at the level he's at in his early 30s.

CSKA Welcomes Yengenjev

Roman Yengenjev in action last season

Russian Under 21s center-back, Roman Yengenjev has today signed a four year deal that will see him join champions, CSKA Moscow following a deal between CSKA and Dynamo was agreed for the player.

Following the surprise departure of Chancel Mbemba to RedBull Salzburg, CSKA Moscow have spent very little time in signing their replacement. Roman Yengenjev has agreed a four year contract following a £9,000,000 deal being reached between CSKA and Dynamo Moscow earlier this week.

Yengenjev, who stands 6”4, is a highly rated prospect across Russia and has played fifteen games for the Russian Under 21s national side. He began his career at former club Dynamo Moscow and worked his way through the youth sides before making his Dynamo-2 Moscow debut in 2017.

Spending two seasons in the second team, Yengenjev was called into the first team in the 2018/19 season and since then has only solidated his place in the team. The defender also has an eye for goal, using his height especially well from set pieces. In his fifteen under 21 national team games, the center-back has amassed six goals for the team. Height was something the Champions lacked last season, with an average height of 5”10, Yengenjev should provide some aerial prowess to the side.

Yengenjev also brings to the side an ability to play from the back, a system that Luke Hendricks has seemed to implement at the club. Completing 84% of his passes last season, Yengenjev is also a player who likes to bring the ball forward himself. The defender completed a dribble every other game in his previous season a total of three more than Mbemba. CSKA’s latest signing is a player, manager Luke Hendricks says he is very excited to start working with.

Luke Hendricks:
“Roman (Yengenjev) is a player I have followed for a while now, we looked at him last season but couldn’t get a deal done but once we knew Chancel (Mbemba) would be leaving we made Roman our number one priority. He is a talented player and at his age he has time to develop into a star in this league. I am very excited about working with him.”

Today has also seen a number of offers made for CSKA Moscow players, with all of them being rejected by the Russian Champions. Arnór Sigurðsson, who has been highly touted since Luke Hendricks first season in 2018/19, had a bid of £20,000,000 from Brighton rejected. Sigurðsson is linked with numerous clubs, including Valencia, Brighton, West Ham United and Stoke City.

Stoke aren’t only interested in the Icelnadic winger though, as they also had a bid rejected for Ivan Oblyakov. The Russian international who has been integral to Luke Hendricks’ CSKA Moscow side in the past two seasons, racking up fifteen league assists last year, had an offer of £40,000,000 rejected by the club. Oblyakov is reported to want to stay at CSKA despite interest from elsewhere which will surely please his manager.

CSKA Moscow begin their pre-season friendlies on Saturday as they prepare to play Second Division side Saturn.

Justice: Might not be a name as big as Mbemba but I think he is at the same level of Mbemba with a lot more room to grow at just 22.
Scott:I wasn't certain on selling him but when the offer came in I had to take it.
James:He was great for us in some big games but he just couldn't stay fit and for that money it seemed the smart option to take. Being foreign it also means we free up a space there.
Griffo:Don't worry, blood and gore will be back soon ;)
Jack:He's still a very good player don't get me wrong. But as someone on a high wage and injured for almost half the season last year, we couldn't say no to the money. Also doesn't help that he takes a foreign player spot!
Solid pick up, big body at the back to keep the wolves at bay!
Yeng looks peng. He might be in Russia but he'll make your defence as impermeable as the Roman Empire!
Great to see a domestic player plugging the gap left by a foreign player, makes registration and match rules a lot easier to get around. He looks great too!
A perfect fit by the sound of it. A commanding prescene who is comfortable with the ball at his feet. He has all the makings of being a great player under Hendricks.

^ How I imagine Boyra Uys looks/acts

Yengenjev looks great for the price you've paid for him, and the fact that he doesn't count towards your foreign quota makes it an even better deal. He's a big upgrade on Mbemba, and could be at your club for the next 10-years. Would be a shame to see Sigurðsson or Oblyakov leave, but it may get to the point where you can no longer reject the bids :(
I came here purely for J_ames comment, love it haha

CSKA Armyia - Statement June 30th 2021
An open letter to the fans.

It is with great regret that we have to announce the passing of our good friend Sergei Titov. Following an investigation the police have confirmed that Sergei was involved in a murder resulting in some major worldwide headlines.

Sergei was a man we spent a lot of time with and someone we loved. Over the time of building this channel we became even closer than we were before we started. Our friendship began as young children and we only continued to grow closer together throughout the years.

We would firstly like to extend our deepest condolences to Sergei’s wife, Natasha and their young daughter. We love you both and want you to know we will always be here for you.

Secondly, to the fan’s of this show, we want to thank you for the support and love you have shown us and Sergei’s family. We have been overwhelmed by the love you have shown us in this tough time. We appreciate the privacy you have given us as we come to terms with the great loss we have suffered and the respect you have shown us despite not being as active as we would have liked in this off-season.

Sergei was a man who loved three things in life. His family and friends, CSKA Moscow and this channel. They had been the three constants throughout his life and the three things he loved the most out of anything. Sergei was the man behind many ideas and creations on this show and he loved creating the content for you all. His final piece of work, an Exclusive Interview with current manager Luke Hendricks was one of his proudest pieces of work and we know how delighted he was to see Igor Akinfeev lift the title once again at the end of last season.

Sergei can and will never be replaced, but we as a team and in speaking to his family have come to the decision that we will continue to do what we do. We believe Sergei would want the show to continue and we will be doing just that with him in our thoughts.

With many allegations and reports coming out against our late friend, we want to take this moment to remind everyone of the incredible person Sergei was. He was a caring man who wanted to and would do anything to protect his family and friends.

We are all going to miss him beyond belief.

We love and miss you our friend

Maksim Smirnov & Vadik Vassily

Griffo:Thats why he was bought in add some height to that reasonably short defense.
Justice:He certainly does. I hope so would do our chances at back to back titles the world of good.
Jack:Was something I felt was needed. We may have done well to win the league but I wasn't happy with the lack of domestic talent. Hopefully we continue to win games with them in the squad.
Scott:Certainly the sort of player that will fit the Hendricks system whilst adding something different to the team with his additional height.
James:How did you find Uys!! ;) I was happy with the deal, they wanted in the range of twenty million last season so we felt a lot better this time round. Oblyakov and Sigurðsson are key to the team so hopefully they can be held on to!
Harrowing news about Sergei Titov. He was a huge part of the CSKA Armiya....... Hope Luke can repay him by continuing the success with CSKA in his memory.
RIP Titov. Gone but never forgotten.
