Happy New Year!!! Certainly is for everyone involved at Newport County. Start of the month the board and myself sat down and thrashed out a new contract! No real surprise only surprise it was only December! Nothing changed in terms of 5 year plan, think they just wanted me to commit and so i did.
After that the games were kicking off as i said it was going to be a tough month with a few big games. Our dominant performances from August were still happening but this time the chances were being made and turned into goals from all over the pitch. We even brushed aside Oxford in the 2nd round the JPT and we now face Spurs U23's i personally fancy our chances at home but we shall see. Notable 5-0 and 6-1 wins at home and it felt so good to get revenge against Leyton Orient!
New feature this year i think was the youth intake preview, looks like this season its favoured wingers, which doesn't really suit us but we shall see! Even if i can develop them to sell them on il be happy!
We took a huge injury blow this month loosing O'Brien pretty much for the rest of season hopefully Iniss can step otherwise we may have to look for something in the youth system!
Positive note tho we are building a bit of a gap from 2nd but more importantly making it hard for 8th to catch us!
We have 7 YES 7 games in total thur January so rotation is going to be key. We will have to look youth prospects here just to keep everyone fresh so sacrificing the JPT could be option.
