That is an absolutely incredible effort!

March 2024

It hasn't been perfect but no team has been as we go into the final month just two points off of the top. The first game of March was not only a South Wales Derby it was also a top of the table clash. After a humbling 3-0 defeat earlier in the season i was determined to get some revenge and also give us the momentum we needed. Alas it wasn't to be as once again Cardiff took the 3 points winning 2-1.

A drab 1-1 draw with Huddersfield followed with the only highlight being Eddie Brown scoring his first for the club before we got back to winning ways beating Sheffield Wednesday and Preston. The month ended with another draw as youngster Andrew Thomas smashed two goals in to give us a 2-2 draw against Aston Villa.

Not a great month but we are still in there as so far all of the teams at the top look a little nervy. It will be a 6 game shootout with probably 4 but maybe up to 6 teams in the hunt.

It's squeaky bum time
I think everyone is starting to feel the nerves towards the top of the Championship. I hope you just happen to be the team to remain composed in the run-in and claim an automatic promotion place. The play-offs are a lottery that you ideally want to avoid.
Genuinely so tight at the top - one result could change the entire season!

23/24 Run in

The time has come. Could we get ourselves promoted back to the top flight. Would I complete my run from Conference South to the Premiership in 5 years. Now is the time to find out

Get in! Cardiff have to settle for the play-offs too. There will be massive celebrations if they don't make it up with you. Congratulations.
Well Scott they didnt make it up as Barnsley won the play-offs. A great season in the end
Solid! Congrats on the title and promotion! Next season will be a big one for Swansea, and they have the right man at the helm for their assault on the Premier League!

I'm ready to serve!
:O Go for it!
Consistently, inconsistent it seemed this season. But it was enough and now the real work begins to get yourselves in Premiership condition. The England offer must have been a surprise but certainly a nice one. Congrats.
England is calling! A good opportunity to work with some good players, and Harry Kane.
Well done on the title win! The England opportuinity is certainly an interesting one

2023/24 - The world in focus

5 Seasons in and what is the quarter way mark of what was planned to be a 20 year career. We are now clawed our way to the top league and so we have 15 years to win the 17 trophies set out in the challenge. So we need more than a trophy a season from here on out. Quite a tall order but as a a reminder here are the trophies

Premiership & FA Cup
LA Liga and Copa del Rey
Ligue 1 & Coupe de France
Bundesliga & DFB Pokal
Serie A & Coppa Italia
Champions League, Europa League and Europa Conference
World Club Cup & European Super Cup
World Cup & European Championships

So two of the trophies are International so that England offer is very tempting indeed as a way of getting started. Looking through the trophy list, i roughly have 3 seasons in each country to win both the League and the Cup whilst also traversing the European competitions. The first one will take the longest but my reputation should be good enough to make it easie to move to a good club in another league. France will be the tricky one as unless i wind up at PSG it could be a slog over there.

So what does it look like in Europe at the moment? Well here is the rundown from the season just gone

So Liverpool won the Premiership this season with both Manchester clubs and Chelsea making up the top 4. Arsenal however, won the FA Cap beating our conquerors Chelsea 1-0 but couldnt repeat the feat in the Champions League final as they lost to Man Utd 1-0. Manchester in fact had another European winner as Man City beat Inter Milan 3-1 in the Europa League final.

Over in Spain it was Atletico Madrid who won the league and are a real force in thid save. Valencia got to the final of the Copa del Rey but were eventually beaten by Barcelona 2-1 after extra time. Meanwhile Real Betis won the Europa Conference beating RB Leipzig on penalites after a 2-2 draw.

Germany saw Bayer Leverkusen win the league with Koln beating Bayern in the final of the Cup. It really hasnt been a good 5 years for the German Giants with the German league proving quite fascinating so far.

Certainly more interesting than in France where PSG won the league again but they didnt make the final of the Coupe de France as Lyon beat Rennes 3-1 proving just maybe you can win trophies over there without being PSG.

Whilst in Italy it was a Roma double as Juventus have truly lost their recent grip omn Italy.

Whilst on the International stage Norway (yes Norway) won the Euro2024 tournament besting Spain on penalities. Meanwhile England were knocked out by Turkey in the knock out rounds hence the surprise job offer.

Our Progress

0/17 Targeted trophies won
2 Other trophies League 1 (22/23), Championship (23/24)

Career

2019/20: Oxford City, 6th Vanarama South, 4th Qualifying Round FA Cup, 3rd Qualifying Round FA Trophy
2020/21: Oxford City, 3rd Vanarama South, 2nd Round FA Cup, 1st Round FA Trophy, Vanarama South Manager of the year
2021/22: Notts County, 3rd Vanarama National (Promoted via Play-offs), 3rd Round FA Cup, Semi Final FA Trophy
2022/23 MK Dons 1st League One, 3rd Round FA Cup, Quarter Finals EFL Trophy
2023/24 Swansea 1st Championship, 4th Round FA Cup, 4th Round Carabao Cup

Past Clubs Performance

Oxford City: My Successor Luke Garrad is still in Oxford as they continue to fight for a play-off position every year. They just missed out finishing in 8th but i still pray that they can eventually make their way out of the Vanarama South having come so close.
Notts County: It was a superb season in league 2 for Notts County as they won promotion to the 3rd tier after coming 2nd
MK Dons: Tipped for Relegation and with my successor Dean Smith leaving mid way through the season, it should have been a tough season for the Dons but Harry Kewell stepped up from his coaching position to guide the Dons to a respectable 18th finish in the Championship. Patrick Vieira is the new boss for next season.

So there you have it. The trophy situation has made me think again about Swansea and there is a nice job at Everton i am being tipped for. That would be a massive move that i couldnt resist. The England job is in the bag and we will have a go at finally bringing the World Cup back.
Norway winning the Euros is an interesting one!
