My game won't leave the starting screen, any ideas why this may be or any ways to fix this??

have you recently installed any mods etc?
probably a good idea to revert back to default skin, remove any newly installed or overlapping content you've downloaded.
also could be worth verifying the steam files. you can do that by going to your steam library, right click FM20 and hit properties.
under the local files tab, there is a button for verify integrity of files.
this will scan and re-download any game files that may be missing for any reason.

I had the same problem
Turned out i had to remove all cache, at least that's how i remember it.
Go into your documents -> sports interactive -> FM20 -> and then i think you can find cache somewhere
