MARCH 2026 | MUST WIN GAMES
![]()
The season is nearing the end and the pressure is on. My contract is running out and with the board expecting me to win the Premier League and the Champions league it is getting intense. Anything can happen in the Champions League, but right now I am praying for Liverpool to slip, otherwise it will be another Premier League trophy going to Anfield, and possibly the end of my United career for now.

I have already started thinking about what I will do if I lose my United job. I am still England manager so will have some games to play while I decide. My inital though is to manage at another club in another league for a change of scenery with the long-term objective of getting the United job again later in the save. I have put too much time into this save to throw it all away, and it could be fun using another team and playing in a league without Liverpool for once!

Our first game of the month is an FA Cup 5th round tie against Palace at Old Trafford. As always for cup games, we rotated the team, De Gea started in goal, Michael Giggs Semp came in on the left, Wanderson made his first start and Harry Semp was back up top with Mbappe.
![]()
A good performance. Haaland scoring the winner off the bench. I would still like to win games like this more convincingly, but none the less we progress to the next round.
![]()
The next round of the FA Cup and we have been given a favorable tie, at home against Newcastle.
![]()
Sheffield United next away in the Premier League. Over the past few season's Sheffield, under the management of Brendan Rogers, have built a nice team. Deulofeu, Eduoard, and Politano, a dangerous front 3! I decided to change up my tactic again, reverting back to the 4-2-3-1 shape that I used for almost the full first 4 seasons of this save.
![]()
Another narrow win. Greenwood with the winner. I was happy to keep a clean sheet in this game, but again we need to be scoring more goals with the quality we have in attack.
![]()
Elsewhere Chelsea did us a favour by coming back from 2-0 down to draw 2-2 with Liverpool.
![]()
Probably our biggest game of the month was our second leg Champions League game against Napoli. After a narrow victory in Italy, a draw would be enough to get us through to the quarter finals. We changed back to our 4-2-4 formation, and with the 4 big attackers all starting: Rashford and Mbappe out wide, Greenwood and Haaland up top.
![]()
A fantastic 4-0 win! This is what I expect from the boys especially when we play at Old Trafford, the board should be pleased after that win as it takes us one step closer to winning our 3rd Champions League trophy of this save.
![]()
As you can see the board are still disappointed with our results, mainly in the Premier League. We need to quickly improve the C+ rating the board have given our performance.
![]()
Every game counts, I feel like I am one or two losses away from it being almost impossible to keep my job. Every decision I make is going to make a big impact on what is to come at the end of the season when I sit down with the board. Haaland and Bellingham came out in the press urging the board to renew my contract saying that I deserve to stay on. I hope the board is listening!
![]()
Our next match was at Old Trafford in the Premier League against Everton. Another strong team that were actually playing in the Champions League this season. We stuck with the 4-2-4 that worked well against Napoli, but I wanted to try Bellingham on the wing. I have seen on some other players saves and in other forums that he is really good in that position. I know he has great dribbling so hopefully he can perform there for me too.
![]()
Another strong 4-0 win! Now we are starting to perform. Bellingham got on the scoresheet and with a 9.0 rating was awarded Man of the Match! Perhaps we keep him on the right wing for games to come.
![]()
With the World Cup approaching we have some friendlies scheduled for England. Games against Chile & Ukraine will give us a chance to experiment with tactics and different players. Here is a look at the squad we have selected. The most notable call up was our youth prospect Harry Semp, who could make his first cap for the Three Lions against Chile.
![]()
Elsewhere in the other Champions League ties, Liverpool showed their pure domination against Juventus. I honestly cannot beleive how good they are in this save.. I hope Klopp gets Coronavirus and has to retire...

CHAMPIONS LEAGUE QUARTER FINAL DRAW
I am hoping to be drawn against Porto or Wolfsburg, we definatley don't want Liverpool! And Real Madrid would be really tough..
![]()
And we get...
Real Madrid!
Of course this happens... we just sold Havertz and Chong to them, now they will both probably score against us! A really tough game, but we have to beat the best teams to win the Champions League!
![]()
If we win we will play either PSG or Atletico Madrid in the Semi-Final.
![]()
![]()
Our next match is against Newcastle in the FA Cup Quarter Final. 4-2-4 again, Bellingham starts again on the right wing. We also changed the two full backs, Williams and Garrincinha come in.
![]()
4-0 again! That's three 4-0 wins on the bounce, is our form finally going to click when we need it most! Or is it too late. Just two months left in the Premier League, and we still have to play Spurs and Liverpool again in the league. Bellingham also won Man of the Match again, I like how he is performing on the wing.
![]()
In the Newcastle game Mason Greenwood fractured his toe and will be out for 3 weeks, missing the two upcoming friendlies for England.
![]()
March was a very good win for us. 5 games 5 wins. Some dominant performances now, I have to carry this on for the rest of the season.
![]()
Wiht 8 games left Liverpool are above us by 5 points. I am still playing them again, so it is somewhat in our hands to take the league back to Manchester. It is going to be really tough as I still don't know how to play Liverpool tactically. Do I attack them ? Do I sit deep and counter ? Do I flood the midfield? Do I play balanced? Whatever I decide to do, I have to win...
![]()
After a good month the board are now rating my performance a B- which is an improvement, but still no contract offer has come through..
![]()
![]()
Lastly, the FA Cup Semi-Final has been drawn and we will play against Norwich

As always thanks for reading!
The next update will be short, just the two games for England.
QUESTION OF THE MONTH: Which is the team you hate most in FM? You can guess mine...
