I started the demo using Manchester United.

I sold/loaned out:
Berbatov, Park, Neville, Valencia, O'Shea, Carrick, Brown & Bebe.

I bought:
Mahamadou Diarra 4.5M ,Neymar 16M, Jack Rodwell 9M, Alexis Sanchez 9M & Castaignos 2M

After 21 games I am top of the league with 45 points, equal with Chelsea and Liverpool. 14 wins, 3 draws and 4 losses. Scored 52 goals and conceded 21. Rooney is top scorer on 16 goals followed by Hernandez on 14. Noticeable wins include a 3-0 over Chelsea at Stamford Bridge and a 5-0 win at home against Arsenal which included a hat-trick from Hernandez, 5-0 against Fulham, 5-1 against Bolton and a 6-0 against West Ham.

Anyone having this sort of success or better? really thinking about continuing this save game however I know that the full version will have a bigger DB and a patch.....decisions decisions

tbh i stopped playing before the season started. i want a fresh start with steaua or man utd. you on the other hand had a great start, the best attack in the league by far
I have the dilemma of 1. do I keep going or 2. start from scratch with the large database. I honestly doubt that I would be able to replicate this sort of start again. As far as management goes...I don't interfere with training, leaving it to the assistant, I keep formation that same for each game despite what the opposition formation is, I don't prepare tactics for each game...just whatever is default. The only thing I do is change the lineup.

Usually I have Rooney and Hernandez up front
Nani on the left and Sanchez on the right
Rodwell and Anderson centre midfield
Evra left wing back and Rafael right wing back
Vidic and Evans centreback.

On the bench ill have Hargreaves, Giggs, Macheda, Kuzschak, Diarra, Ferdinand and Fabio.

I guess I don't take full advantage of what the game can offer in regards to how in-depth I work with team team, I rather just choose a lineup and tell them to attack and see what happens.
It's really what pleases you more. If you're going to pay and buy the game, that is your money spent - your way of enjoying the game. Whether you take full advantage of what the game can offer is your decision to take. Like in real life we decide to delve in-depth into the details of a situation, even if it doesn't always turn out with great results, it surely helps you comprehend bits and pieces that you've been ignoring before.

Football is usually about getting the points as in winning, but football manager is a game that gives you the opportunity digging out a bunch of insightful details that might let you in some extra excitement that goes beyond than merely topping the league charts. I personally like to experiment, try a different approach at times, give in to the possibilities. I'm not saying I'm playing to lose, just getting involved more with various aspects of team managing.

But then again, if you get bored having to deal with more than just picking the lineup, this is exactly why you're having an assistant manager on a 'payroll', this is why football manager is great... it lets you be the type of manager you enjoy being the most.
If I was in your place I would continue with the Man Utd because you have pretty good squad there and its not often that you got that good squad and you can play a new game anytime you want.
I have been playing as celtic, bought a GK called diego, also bought jo from man city, have won all games with exception of being knocked out of europe.
i like the tactic creation wizard and also how realistic transfers are, no point bidding on unrealistic targets cos they wont be interested and u wont be able to offer a contract, don't like the small database and how you can only start with 1 country, also had problems with steam(slow dl) so will be playing and experimenting but will then delete and buy the disk version.
