Are any of the tactics posted tested for multiple seasons?

So after much fretting about my next fixture which was away to Inter, who to be fair, I would have taken a draw, but was expecting a loss. I deliberated using a plug and play. But thought, no, let's see if I can have a go with logic. So i modified my 4-1-2-2(wingers)-1. Had FB (AU), marking their wingers, my DM(DLP DEF) man marking their AMC, my winners marking their full backs, as I presumed they'd be bombing on. The tactic is a direct counter attacking one, set to positive, 3/4 for directness on this occasion and 1/2 way for tempo. Counter pressing and countering, Very few PIs.
If interested will send pics.
Anyway point is my logical approach seemed to pay off, and if my striker could've hit a cows arse with a banjo then we would've been better.
We went 2-0 up counting from goal kicks, kept distributing to defenders, drew in their press and then hit down wings, one winger got a brace, other just 1, striker could've had a hatrick,(subbed 60mins for being cack) they brought it back to 2-1, and 3-2 in the 81 min. They had to go down to 10 men as player got injured so tried down that flank. Then got the fear, so reverted back to positive. We held on to win 3-2.
Guess what I'm trying to say is you can surprise yourself and logic does prevail sometimes, and it feels so good when your figure it or yourself
And back to reality....... home v Torini tried a home made tiki-taka, 4231, positive mental standard def and press lines as didn't want to get hit by Long balls. Apart from nearly give them a pen in first 10mins nothing happened in first half. Reverted to fire and water with adjusted mentalities, still nothing of note. Then they get a pen in 94th min and win 1-0. Tried tinkering and nothing seemed to have an effect other than negative
And the next game too, away to Bayern, tried my own tactic. Thrashed
Hey mate, don't know if this will be any help for you but at the minute I've been using downloadable tactics (using a Knap one currently, Bad Company 4231) and just kinda tweaking with it a few minutes into every game I'm in and its working not terribly so far. I've played 4 games doing this winning all 4 not conceding a goal as of yet, although as I'm typing this I'm currently 2-0 down vs Liverpool at home in 30 minutes soooo.

What team are you on your save? Getting battered by Bayern away isn't really anything out of the usual, even if you are a really top team. Really frustrating but not too out of the ordinary I can't quite imagine, especially if you are a lower down team. I'd also say that constantly changing your teams identity (Gegenpress to a tiki-taka to a counter tactic, etc.) might not work as your team can't really get used to a certain tactic and thus do not actually learn any given tactic and can't get used to any of them so don't do very well when actually playing in game. I kinda try and keep it to one basic identity and just tweak in game if I notice something clearly isn't working, Don't have ridiculous success with it but if your a bit better at reading the game than I am you should be all good.

I've also found sometimes changing a tactic at half time completely may not be the best idea. If there doing bad I usually give them a good bollocking at half time and usually come out and scrape a win. Even if it is a bad performance it can just get you over the line so you can give it a bit of a rethink before the next game.

Also I feel you about your striker not being able to hit a cow with a banjo. I have Fabio Silva and I've lost count of the amount of chances and one on ones he should score that he just doesn't. Wouldn't even mind if it was a bad striker but his stats are unreal and its just so frustrating so I feel you.

Hope this could be of any help for you

Hi, Thanks for advice, I used Beowulf by knap last season and finished 3rd, and used Bad compant earlier in my save as Gothenburg, and did well my final session in sweden with it.
Was just trying to make mt own way this season, to try and master the tactics.
But staying to think why bother, like you say, get one that works and just tweak it.
I found Bad company against the big eutopean trams was suicide, so making it positive and dropping defensive line is a good shout
No problem mate. As long as you can get a tactic that can work for you I really wouldn't worry too much about trying to master it for yourself. As long as you do well I wouldn't worry about it too much. After a while you might pick up a bit about how the tactics work and might be able to tweak and tinker to make them a little bit more your own in the end anyway. Changing defensive lines is kinda like my go to if things aren't working great, not sure if it helps all too much on the attacking side of thing but can deffo help regarding the defensive side. If you find something that seems to start working quite well for you just let me know, I definitely would appreciate the help
So prime example, milan home and Juve away. I admit tough ties for Lazio. Drew agains tMilan and lost away to juve. Was using Bad company, and presumed if I used this un altered I'd get mulled, so dropped pressing and defensive lines against, Milan, man marked wingers pressed key players etc, relatively pleased with draw. However against Juve ( near in mind I don't expect to beat then away its just the frustration of manner of deafeat)
Do dopamine thing, drop press and def lines bit deeper, man mark their striker who is v good and wingers too and change to positive.
This time, their attitude just ends up through on goal with through balls all the time. So am I marking him too tightly? Players seem to lose him and fill backs just arm to ignore their mating responsibilities. I changed them from WB to FB bout 20 mins in as I thought this might help.
Ant ideas where I'm going wrong?
I appreciate there are games you aren't going to win/ can't win every game, but it seems that I come off second best more often than not in the crunch games. Am I closing down too many players? As top bee fair against the big clubs o end up closing down their entire team. Or is it more likely my team just isn't Asda good ad theirs and I need better players?
