With same players and same tactic a team with a lower reputation will have better results.than a team with a higher reputation.

How do we combat this?

2020-07-17 20:42#276311 Darkonn : I have a doubt ... The mentality of Knap's Black Echo tactics is to ATTACK correct? Do I need to change my mindset during the game? Because I leave to ATTACK from the beginning to the end of the game.
You may notice after the first season, it is slightly less effective as AI gets a bit wiser to way you play and adjusts its tactics accordingly.

It's true, I realized that. What do you usually change?

I'm a bit unsure of the answer at the moment. Tried changing tactics, making my own, changing memories on one's I've used before. Had a bad stay to this season. Then I have reverted back to Bad company, and tweaking it, some teams just park the bus as we were pretty free scoring last season, bigger teams fight fire with fire, so been trying to adjust mentalities, hit bigger teams on the counter, and winger teams who set up defensively, changing mentality to try coax them out, then swap to more attacking. All in theory of course, had some triumphs, and some disasters
I am in the same situation. I really don't know what else to do.

Any tactics you've made/know of that would be effective with a higher reputation team?

My tactic, however, is VERY OFFENSIVE. It has to be really used in a team of great reputation.

If you have a very high reputation team but a squad to match you can win every game scoring over 200 goals. It is not a problem at that level.
The problem arises when your squad ability is below the reputation. Arises when you overachieve and in theory the AI goes defensive and your team does not ability to score against a packed defence

So the question we're are asking is how do we'r counter this? Do my suggestions in previous post, of stopping to positive and dropping line of engagement and defensive line seem logical. Or would you do something different?

I realized that. It is easier to win for big teams than the small ones that are in defense.

This is the right question. Be very interesting to see if anyone can provide a good answer.
Depends whether you consider tactictical
I did several experiments over a long period of time to find out what the best role for AMC and Wingers Back is in 4-2-3-1 tactics, and some may not agree or find it strange but ...
AMC is much better as a Trequartist and the Wingers as an Advanced Playmaker.

I made these 2 changes to your @Knap tactic at Black Echo.

And I have solved this "fall" with the screams at the edge of the field.

So you've studied the actual role itself & how it interacts with the other roles & come up with a logical decision. Very novel idea, can't see it catching on.

From my extensive testing of the roles In the no.10 slot you need an attack rather than support to make them effective so Treq is a very good choice. I prefer APA as they get a bit more involved in the build up but the Treqs unpredictability can be very useful.

Are your wingers on AP support or attack? I presume attack.
There are tactics with Wide playmakers and advanced playmakres. I tend towards AMA but SS works well in the right formation.
Agreed Knap - AMA, APA, Treq & SS all work well as no.10 as they are attack duties. They all have their own little idiosyncrasies as does any 'creative' role.

The situation is the AI is defending more due to your reputation improving yet you don't have the quality to break them down with your previous working 'attacking' tactic.

It's a tough one this.... To my mind you have two options but the first thing you must do is change something in your tactic. The fact you have recognized what is happening is half the battle, many don't get that far.

I would either do as you have suggested & go less attacking (But still attack minded) yourself to attempt to bring the AI out of it's defensive structure. Or the better idea as I don't think the first suggestion would work (The AI would take the 0-0 as a success to them) would be to change your tactic in how you attack or perhaps even go more attacking. For this you may well need another OP tactic or change your current previously OP tactic in a way to break them down.
