I am very confused with these ppms.. I've read the description, and I kind of get it but could anyone tell me in detail? and how dicate tempo and stops play are different?

also, I ve realised messi has dictate tempo ppm, and would it be good for someone like messi who plays on flanks , and who are very creative to have this ppm? or would it be better without this ppm?

same goes for hazard who has stops play, would be good for such player to have that ppm?

I am on my 3rd season, and I got this new youth who I think could be like messi or hazard, and I just wan to put one of these two ppm on him.

I am very new to this game, every answers will be very appreciated. Thank you!
Dictates Tempo is the better PPM but also the hardest one to get the correct player for. This PPM plays both slow and fast tempo dependent on the situation, so very high decisions are a must. This PPM suits a Playmaker role in any of the midfield positions. Note this PPM will override your team Tempo level. It boosts Creative Freedom for the player.

Stops Play does what it says on the tin. That player when they receive the ball will hold the ball rather than dribble/move it on immediately & and look at all options. This PPM suits any Attacking Midfielder with a Support role. This PPM is a fast tempo killer (Which isn't a bad thing most of the time).

Hope this helps.

Thanks a lot for your reply. Really appreciate it.

You said that dictate tempo suits any of the midfield position, would AM/R or AM/L be also alright to have that ppm? assuming that the player is creative with good decision.

Anytime, you're very welcome.

Providing the player can carry out the role, yes. Ideally it's a playmaker role you need in that position so AMR/AML position would be APS, APA or Treq role for example.

Taking Messi as the PPM example. He's a complete maverick so can be encouraged to do his own thing. I would play him APA or Treq on either wing.

Other examples of good Dictate Tempo PPM player/role would be Pirlo as a DLP or Regista in the Def Mid position or maybe, at a stretch, Thiago Alcantara as a RPM or DLPS in the Centre Mid position.

I would want that PPM for the very best players only personally. It's an elite PPM.
