# Tom_BcFC : I was enjoying this until you signed 25 players mate, to unrealistic for my liking

good luck getting them to gel!
and taking the likes of morecambe to the premiership, thats just not unrealistic at all is it :P
signing 25 players when i new manager comes in is not as unrealistic as you would think.
Again take my beloved Barnet for instance. Over the summer the chairman cleaned out all the dead wood and the bald twat they call the new manager has signed 21 new players.
Look at Southend too. I don't know how many new players they have this season but they had to cancel pre-season friendlys due to not having enough players to begin with. So signing 25players isn't as unrealistic as you may think.

But good luck with your Morecambe! Lower leagues are win! Screw the real life prem and their overpaid actors!

Cheers beast, I always like to overhaul my squads when I first join and thought it was normal. I guess some people like to do things differently.

I should also mention that I load all players with EU nationality makes a lot more free transfer players available to me.
Every manager has their own opinion on what players they should have at their club. If this was the real world admitedly you wouldn't sign a lot of foreigners if any at all but you would find good league 2 players to fit the bill.
What people do is their own choice, which is why the invented the editor as well.
At the end of the day its a game and people play games to have fun. So enjoy your journey up the leagues and best of luck doing so!
Keep your story coming :)

p.s.
Try playing Gueye more. He gets a lot of goals. Also try get Gauthier Mahoto if you can. I loanded him from Portsmouth last year and he was really good and he has no club at the start.
Tried to pick up Mahoto but there was a lot of premiership interest in him... he went to Mallorca in the end.

I have to agree. I prefer to buy as less footballers as possible to save money but sometimes you can't.
Izzy Iriekpen has always been a good find for a free transfer. At 28 he's getting on a bit but still a good solid defender with bags of quality and a really good captain too. Only problem is the money you need to splash out to sign him. Need at least 1k+ wages to tempt him. He speaks english tho which is a bonus!

Looks like Iriekpen would have been a good CB for me, he's signed for Carlisle now though. Also wages would have been difficult... already made a 350k loss this season and 1.5K over budget. Pape Gueye has been scoring quite a few goals for me though, good call on him.

Season 1 - December update - 02/12/10

Still hovering just below the playoffs with mixed performances over the last month. Struggling to get any kind of consistency in our form but my assistant reports that the team is starting to blend well together. Disappointed to be knocked out of the FA Cup in 2nd round by Peterborough especially when we played well and still got thrashed 4 -1.

http://img215.imageshack.us/i/leaguetable021210.jpg/

Good Result - Crewe 1 - 4 Morecambe
An excellent result in a game we were 10-1 to win. Teams were evenly matched, the key difference being our strikers ability to hit the back of the net including a hat-trick from Gueye.

Managers player of the month - November
Phil Jevons - ST - Had a poor start to the season (7 games with 0 goals). After a private chat about his poor form he really started to improve his performances and has scored 4 goals in his last 5 games
http://img80.imageshack.us/i/jevons.jpg/

Pape Gueye - ST - Due to injury to Ngo Baheng has been given more chances in the first team and has really impressed, a hat-trick against Crewe being a particularly good performance. Also won League Young Player of Month Award for November

Season 1 - January Transfer Window - 01/01/11

A fantastic December has seen us win 5 out of 6 league games and pick up 16 points. This good form has seen Morecambe climb up to 2nd place in league and really set us out as solid promotion contenders. I also picked up my first Manager of the Month Award which I'm pleased about.

Managers Player of the Month
Will Haining - DC - A strong month for the Captain who played a big part in us only conceding 5 in 6
http://img593.imageshack.us/i/haining.jpg/

Transfers
Will be a much quieter transfer window than the previous one, finances are now £200,000 in the red and too much recruitment would see that drop much further. However the board have offered me new season ambitions with a higher wage budget allowance.

IN
Jack Sampson - ST - Free
Miha Golob - DR - £50
http://img181.imageshack.us/i/golob.jpg/

I'm excited by Sampsons potential and Golob looks like a very strong right-back

Issues
I signed Jack Sampson as a hot prospect and his squad status is set as so, but for some reason when I moved to the reserves he became extremely unhappy and has immediately handed in a transfer request :( I'm confused by this because I'd think he'd expect to be in the reserves as a hot prospect but perhaps this is because of his Outspoken, Short-tempered, Confrontational personality. (Should’ve checked that before I signed him!)

Our brilliant first half season performance has given us a real shot at promotion. The squad is strong, they're blending well and match preparation is at least accomplished in all areas for all tactics. I'm now confident Morecambe will at least finish in the play-offs this season and I really want to challenge for the title!
I suppose you didn't sign Sampson for a single season, so you can try to place him on loan and maybe instead of the reserves move him to your youth squad until you can loan him out.

In the meantime, I'd have a talk with him and remind him who's the boss :)

just spoke to him and repeatedly told him how unprofessional he was being but he wasn't having any of it. I assume its his personality. At 18 he's definitely a long term prospect so hopefully he'll get over it in a few months or so.

Thanks for the advices, now i realize that Millers won't be the hardest challege to take so i'll try with one of the lowest league worst teams.
I'll only shortly comment on my story because i suck at english, lol.
Tomorrow i'll start the challenge, hope i got what it takes, lol.

Nice work with Morecambe dude, you really doing a great job.

Season 1 - End of Jan Transfer Window - 02/01/11

Another good month for Morecambe FC as we hold on to 2nd place and close the gap on first place to 7 points. More good form with the exception of a narrow loss against Bradford on New Years Day. We’ve definitely become one of the favourites for promotion and squad looks even stronger after some big signings this month.

Managers player of the Month
Cedric Mensah - GK - Has been instrumental in us maintaining our good form and the main reason we beat Gillingham. Has only conceded 2 goals in his last 5 games.

Transfers
IN
Melvin Fleur - DLC - Free- Signed as a replacement for the outgoing Tony Capaldi, similar ability, 1-year younger, lower wage demands and a resolute personality. He'll compete with Konki for first choice LB and also provide strong cover for the CBs.
http://img295.imageshack.us/i/fleure.jpg/

Sergio Rebordao - DDMC - Free- Signed to become first choice CB alongside Haining, has great defending technique and the ability to play at a higher level.
http://img153.imageshack.us/i/rebordao.jpg/

Adrien Baur - DMAMC- 5K - After my first choice choice Deep-Lying Playmaker Arton Ademi picked up a season ending injury, I chose this guy as his replacement. Highly rated by my staff.
http://img151.imageshack.us/i/bauru.jpg/

OUT
Tony Capaldi - 16K
Some decent new players joined. Are they going to enjoy first team play or are you just trying to increase squad's depth? How's team morale at the moment?

Since you seem good value for promotion at this point, you should start looking slightly ahead... how you could possibly challenge teams of the next division in order to at least avoid relegation next year without struggling.

Or just have a plan on what players you need to hold on to and which ones to sell, so you can end up having a healthy wage budget that you could potentially adjust for some better transfers in during the summer window.

Season 1 - March update - 02/03/11

I’m content with the our form from last month but it hasn’t been enough to close the gap on 1st placed Macclesfield. I was disappointed to drop 2 points in the last 10 minutes against Cheltenham, a win would have taken us within 5 points of 1st. On the plus side, we still sit in 2nd place and are now 5 points clear of the playoffs.

Managers Player of the Month
Andy Fleming - MC - Featured more regularly last month due to injuries in midfield and has impressed. He also won the League 2 Goal of the Month Award!
http://img89.imageshack.us/i/fleming.jpg/

Squad morale is high! All the Morecambe players have morale of “okay” or above and this should help in hitting some excellent form in the season run-in. There are no issues or pressing concerns amongst the players with the exception of Jack Sampson.

New arrivals have settled in well. I’m genuinely surprised at how well the team has come together this season; with over half of the squad replaced, 80% of signings being from abroad and 50% of these signings unable to speak English It’s remarkable that there hasn’t been any home sickness at all. It may be of note that all of the players in the squad either speak English, French or both which means every player has got someone to speak to.

New signing and injury replacement player Adrien Baur has also picked up a long-term injury that has unfortunately ended his season after only 3 appearances. Fortunately the man he was replacing, Arton Ademi is expected to return at the end of March and I’m hoping he’ll feature throughout April.

Season 1 - Title Challenge - 02/04/11

Another decent month has seen us close the gap on Macclesfield to 4 points. With Macclesfields league lead consistently shrinking it looks as though the title challenge could go on until the last game of the season. Bradford have also joined the race having drawn level with us on 74 points.

http://img838.imageshack.us/i/resultsl.jpg/

http://img51.imageshack.us/i/tablefl.jpg/

I was frustrated with the result against Crewe because we dominated the match from start to finish but the referee gave them two controversial penalties which lead to our loss. I was later warned by the FA for slagging off the referee post match.

http://img207.imageshack.us/i/fawarning.jpg/

Managers Player of the Month
Will Haining - CB - Another good month for the captain as we didn't concede a single goal from open play, he also picked up 2 goals in our game against Stevenage. Unfortunately he's picked up an injury in training that will see him miss the remaining games.
http://img843.imageshack.us/i/haining.jpg/

http://img12.imageshack.us/i/morecambestevenage.jpg/

The team is set and ready for this final run of matches and I’m confident that with a bit of bad luck for Macclesfield we can earn enough points to pinch the Title. The return of Ademi is a big boost and he'll make his return in our next game against Torquay.
Decent read upto now, will be good to see how u progress next season in league 1.
If you make it there (which you should).
Season 1 - Season Round Up - 30/05/11

Morecambe Win Promotion!

A good finish to the season has seen us win promotion in 2nd place. Macclesfield won the title by 4 points and proved to be too difficult to catch. Bradford also won promotion in 3rd and Wycombe through the playoffs.
http://img87.imageshack.us/i/resultse.jpg/

http://img168.imageshack.us/i/tableuj.jpg/

Overall the entire team has impressed this season. The squad has been rotated consistently and the fact that we finished in 2nd and challenged for the title shows what incredible strength in depth the team has. I have no doubt that the Morecambe team is too strong for League 2 now and I’m confident that the current team should be challenging for a mid-table finish in League 1 next season.

http://img27.imageshack.us/i/squadpj.jpg/

Managers players of the season
1st - Phil Jevons - ST - While not expected to score many goals with a supporting role up front he still managed to finish the season as the clubs top goal scorer. Scored crucial goals all season, secured many points by himself and finished 2nd in the League 2 Average Rating Table.
http://img510.imageshack.us/i/jevons.jpg/

2nd - Will Haining - DC - The Captain has been the key figure in my defence this season and has lead the team well. Worked well alongside everyone and has made the most appearances for Morecambe this season.
http://img824.imageshack.us/i/haining.jpg/

3rd - Rocky Lekaj - MRL - The talented winger clearly has the ability to play at a higher level. 13 assists this season shows he has made big contributions going forward this season. Finished 3rd in the League 2 Assists Table and finished in the League 2 Team of the Year.
http://img2.imageshack.us/i/lekaj.jpg/

Time to focus on next season. This will be the first time Morecambe have ever played in League 1. I need to decide which players are going to stay and who will be leaving. Finances are starting to look insecure due to high wage expenditure, extra staff and low average attendances this season. I’m going to have sell a number of players and there seems to be quite a lot of interest in many of them at the moment. Fortunately due to my extensive scouting this season and our increased status thanks to promotion I’m sure we will be able to replace outgoing players with equal or better bargains.
