Sven-Göran Eriksson Walks Away

After been appointed as the new Leicester City Manager, Sven-Göran Eriksson has been forced to retire from Football management due to health problems. This has been a shock for The Foxes faithful who were expecting promotion this season with the experienced Swede.

As the things stand Alan Curbishley and Paul Jewell are the front runners for the hotseat at the Walkers Stadium.

Leicester City Chairman Milan Mandari? has announced Club Legend Gary Lineker as the new Manager of The Foxes.Voted as the Club's greatest ever player in 2009,Lineker has no previous experience in Football Management.Affectionately known as the "Leicester's favourite son", Lineker famously led a consortium to invest on the club avoiding bankruptcy.

The club fans are said to be in an enthusiastic and a buoyant mood to see the Legend achieve the long awaited Rise of the Foxes.
First of all I took assessment on the staff, and they were not good enough for me to do the job.So I replaced all the staff members. It did cost me a fair amount for Mutual termination though.Because the club finances were not so bad I didn't hesitate much.

Regarding the Players, I must say that I very much had most of the targets in my mind.I'm a big fan of securing young talent and see them develop into established players.

Out of the Transfers, I would like to pick out my favourites.

Alex Smithies

One of the Best young Goalkeepers in the Game.Great prospect for around 1m.Has done a Great job in my previous stories in FM 2010.

Tom Cairney

Great Technical Stats for a young English Midfielder.Costs around 2.8m though. But worth the price in my opinion.
Wow! 8M is great for a 2nd tier team!
Replacing your staff shows you care about it actually, so nice work there! Also it's good to see you're buying from the local market mate.

Good luck with your first competitive games, I will be following your story ;)
I signed Cairney for 3m, and he is worth it, I can tell you! And, why are a Championship team getting 8M to spend, in my opinion that is just unrealistic.

Leicester City Squad & Tactic

Here's the Squad at the beginning of the season

I prefer using 4-1-2-1-2 which I used with most of the FM 2010 teams I managed.

Goalkeeper (Defend)
Full Back (Automatic) -- Limited Defender - Stopper + Cover (Defend)
Anchor Man (Defend)
Deep Lying Playmaker (Support) -- Advanced Playmaker (Attack)
Attacking Midfilder (Attack)
Poacher (Attack) -- Targetman (Attack)

Nice! Thanks for sharing your tactic mate :)

A Tough Start

The start was not the best as expected it has to be said. From a defeat at Middlesbrough on the first day of the season, only a disappointing 13 Points were collected from the first 10 games which also included 2 League cup matches. But an impressive away victory against Blackburn Rovers was a High note.

Results : August & September

Impressive Result/s : vs Blackburn Rovers (League Cup 3rd Round)

A tough start is not that bad really, it just means you have to work harder or more clever around things. You've put together a good team with plenty of youth prospects, and depending on the players' familiarity with your tactic this can only get better. So go out and keep pushing!

Crawling Up the Table

After some Sorting outs & Tweaks in the Tactics the results were getting better. The return of Aleksandar Tunchev also added solidarity at the back. Then again the performances were not hugely impressive but OK, yet most of the time the results were grinded out.

Results : October, November & December

Pressure piles on the Leicester City Boss

Leicester City, who were tipped for promotion at the start of the season, doesn't look up to the task under their new gaffer Gary Lineker.According to the rumors some of the senior members of the Foxes squad doesn't think Lineker is the right person to guide them for promotion. However Lineker should sort it out quickly otherwise, he might face the axe as early as January.

An update on the league rankings mate? How far are you from promotion?
If you want my advice this tactic is not for both Home and Away games and also needs some fixes.. :) In my opinion you can't play with target man when there are no wingers even if your wing backs are instructed to full attack! so i suggest you playing with poachers keeping the ball down and trying to break up with killer balls!

Moreover, an Anchor man is useless to the productive part of your game and should be used when you have to mark Steven Gerrard etc. ;) Change it to Defensive Midfielder (Defence) and your Deep Lying Midfielder to Central Midfielder (Normal/Def)

For further advice feel free to ask! :D
