Anyone else noticed the incredible transfer policy in FM 2011 ?

Season after season i can't sell some players even if i offer them for 1/10 of their price or for free. Just a few examples for players who boosted my Southampton to Premiership and remained in the reserve squad for the next few years - Liam Rosenior, James McArthur, Chris Brunt and many more i cant remember right now. My point is that they're decent players but even if they weren't i simply cannot afford to have half a dozen players who sit in the reserves and leech my wage budget.

And for goalkeepers.. don't get me started there. They are simply unsaleable. Unless they sit in your transfer list for half a year or so. I reached new low offering Ochoa to clubs for less than a million and nobody was even interested, yes, i sold him for like 10 millions but after a year on my transfer list. Few seasons later i have same issues with Joe Hart. Now don't tell me nobody would be interested in Joe Hart for 1 million euro, it's simply outrageous.

Now i'm having doubts if the problem is in my game, maybe it wasn't patched properly to version 11.1.0 or something.
So tell me, guys, are you experiencing same issues or the problem is really somewhere else.

Cheers
Why don't you set the asking price to £0 and then when bids come in negotiate the price. That's if your really desperate to sell...

There are no bids, nor interested clubs in the first few months for the players i've mentioned. Liam Rosenior for example rested in my club with no bids for three seasons with asking price of 0.

I sell most of my players normally, but still, i can't believe nobody would want Joe Hart or Ochoa for free, or for 1 million euro.
I know what you mean especially with goalkeepers. It's always difficult to sell players who have been sitting in the reserves for a while and it makes sense because no-body is seeing how they perform in competitive matches, perhaps try giving them a dozen first team appearances a season or see if it's easier to loan them out for a percentage of their wages.

I think SI made it difficult to sell players in the first few seasons of the game to reflect the current transfer climate of football. I also think its designed so teams become better off financially long-term and the transfer market becomes more active in later seasons.

I've found it's quite easy to sell youngsters who haven't reached their full potential yet and often get much more for them than their market value, Its is a good way of making money for a growing club.

I also found that some clubs weren't willing to buy a player for free but were willing to take that player on a season loan with a future fee (Eg. Anton Ferdinand got no bids when offered for £0 but got season long loan offers with future fee of £4.3 million)
I suppose it makes the game more realistic, outfield players are more in demand than goalkeepers. I agree with Evo on FM reflecting the current footballing world and club finances, good point...
I have no problem with FM 2011 being more realistic, actually i prefer it this way, i just hope SI will find the perfect balance in next patch.

Thank you, guys, for replying. I feel much better, knowing the problem isn't in me.

Cheers
I have the same problem, cant get rid of the players I no longer need. They end up taking up wage budget, so in the end I end up just terminating their contracts haha
