Unable to load save on new laptop

So I literally got a new laptop and I would really love to carry on my save from my old laptop. I copied all the files across from the Sports Interactive folder, which included the save and it showed up as available to load when I click on load game, however it then stops a little way through and says there's an error.
It was created with a custom database if that makes any difference, even though the database itself has also been copied across and I have been able to alter this and use it when creating a new game.
So I feel like there is something else I'm not doing?
Does anybody have any advice?
Seems very strange. Assuming you’ve still got the old laptop, then try copying again in case the file corrupted or something during transfer.

The database thing won’t make a difference.

Have you made sure all updates are installed so the FM versions are the same on both.
It could be that updates have occurred on the new laptop as that was literally just downloaded, whereas the save was started a little while ago, so maybe that is why and I'm guessing that means there's nothing I can do?
Can you still play on the old laptop?

If you can post a save file on gofile or something, then post a link here and I'll see if I can open it.
