okay so i don't know if i'm doing them right, so i want opinions from other members of the forum to give me some advice. below i will list some PRE-MATCH team-talks which i would use , see what you think..........

currently managing; Sunderland

againist the top 4 sides (ie, Man Utd, Chelsea, Liverpool, Arsenal); "wish luck!" or "the pressure is off!, you have nothing to lose".

againist top half of the league sides (ie, Aston Villa, Everton); "You can win today!" or "Expect a performance!"

againist simialar reputation sides (ie Fulham, Wigan, Wolves); "You can win today!" or "Expect a performance!"

againist lower league sides (ie Barnsely, Rochdale, Hartlepool utd); "I expect a win!"

some what do you think? do you think i'm doing the right thing or what do i need to do better?
Your team talks make sense and are what you would expect to see work but I've noticed that using "wish luck" or "we can win this" seems to demotivate 1 or 2 players and this results in the whole team under performing.

I almost always use "for the fans" as this never has a negative effect on any of the players. I use "I expect a win" only if I'm strong favorites or if the assistant reports over-confidence, and "no pressure" only if I'm heavy underdogs (5-1 to win or worse odds).

Half-time team talks seem to be the most important and I've had many games take surprising turnarounds thanks to a good half-time team talk. What talks you using for half-time?

Experiment and remember to check the assistant feedback to see the effect of different team-talks.
well small tips:

If you got mentally strong players with higher determination etc. then you can be more tough on them in the team talks and expect more.

whilst some you need to be more soft on. now a days in FM you need to make sure you give the right team talk to specific players. as that is more effective.

other than that team talk is what differs many managers so most of it is up to you to find out on what affects things have on the team.

i use more indiviual team talks at half time for example........... if micheal turner has a rating of 5.9 i'll say "dissapointing", and darren bent has a rating of 7.5 i'll say "pleased" and if we are dominating the match but the rest of the team is 6.9 or 6.8, but still playing well i'll say "encourage"....

if we are 1 nil down at half time i'll say something like "i want to see more from you!"

Sounds good. At half time with goalscorers or players on rating of 7.5 or higher try saying "you have faith", and also almost always say "you have faith" for oncoming subs.
I have only ever "declared my anger" to the whole squad once in FM which was last year in a Champions League Final with MUFC against R.Madrid. 2-0 down, HT declared my anger, FT 3-2. Its got to be done sometimes...
All i do is ask more of my team at home and not so much away from home and sometimes when its a game they should win easily i only wish then luck so they don't become complacent. I try not to say the same thing two games in a row too. If an experienced player is under performing I tell them I expect a performance and if that doesn't work i drop them for a game or have a private chat.
