So today I received my Surprise shirt from Surprise Shirts and was very happy. I said to myself, whoever it turns out to be, I'll do a long career on FM. Even more so now I've got an actual working laptop and i can’t access my old saves. So yeah, opened it up and I'll be starting with… And with today’s events, it also inspired me to add a country to manage as well. So it’ll be a club & country save.
In a summer in which they lost two of their key players, more upheaval has happened as Die Werkself announced that Peter Bosz had left his position via mutual consent, as they quickly moved to replace him with Karl George who gladly took the Head Coach job.
“It’s a huge honor to take on the job at this great club. It’s a travesty that we’ve only ever won two major trophies, the Uefa Cup and DFB-Pokal. Being runners up for several major trophies, has got this club the tag of “Neverkusen”. Die Werkself resonates with me on a huge level, similar to my club, Tottenham in many, many ways. My aim is to deliver the trophies the fans, the hierarchy here crave so much. I don’t want that tag to be a part of this club’s history from here on out. It’s not going to be easy as Bayern will be the hardest obstacle to topple, but with RBL and Dortmund also very strong, it’s going to take everyone pulling in the right direction to get to our goals.”
And it’s also been confirmed that Denmark have parted company with Kasper Hjulmand and also turned to Karl George to replace him. As it remains to be seen whether a conflict of interest will evolve.
“I was offered both on the same day, and to be honest after speaking with Rudi, who supported me if I choose to take both jobs on, which he has done. He warned me of the pitfalls and I will give both jobs 150%. I know i’ll be under added scrutiny, but I couldn't pass up either job. These opportunities only come around once, you need to grasp them whilst you can.”
Can Karl George successfully juggle dual jobs? Or will the pressure get too much and force him to push one aside? But which one?
