Should SI include Set Piece Coaches to FM22? (17 votes)
Hi there,

Will be great if we see Set Piece Coaches in next version of Football Manager; like in real life. A lot of clubs now have dedicated coaches for such training; taking tactic familiarity to next level.

What did you think?
It makes sense. I suspect it shouldn't be too difficult for them to add it. But I suspect FM22 had a lot of barriers to its development due to Covid etc, so maybe in FM23 or FM24 we'll see such things? I'm sure they have lots of ideas, but have to evaluate the idea against the time it needs and other things.

They're not EA with lots of resources to throw at a game (in the case of EA they know they'll milk it back from FUT etc), so they have to be careful with how they approach each version.

Given how niche the game is and how long they've been doing it for I'm surprised they've stayed mostly independant (aside from the agreements with EIDOS and Sega) for so long.

Sports Interactive isn't 2 guys in their garage programming a game in their free time... it's a millions dollar industry. And this game is their job, with the hockey one. It's not like they have 50 balls to juggle with.

Whilst that is true, they're still considered niche and rather small in comparison to a number of other games studios.
