Biography
Lampard was one of the Premier League's best ever midfielders across a 21 year career with West Ham, Chelsea and Manchester City. Despite playing through the centre of the park, Lampard had a famous propensity for scoring goals with 177 in the Premier League and 274 in total across his club career, as well as 29 goals for the English national team. His trophy cabinet as a player with Chelsea, where he spent the majority of his career, includes 3 Premier League titles, 4 FA Cups and a Champions League win in 2012. Individually, he won the FWA Footballer of the Year award in 2004/05 and was named in the EPL Team of the Season 3 years running.
After a short stint in the US with New York City FC, Lampard obtained his coaching badges and was hired as manager of Championship side Derby County in May 2018. In his only season at the Rams, he guided them to 6th in the league and an eventual play-off berth where they lost to Aston Villa. At the end of the season, he was heavily linked with the vacant Chelsea role and was hired to his former club on a three year deal.
In 2019/20, after a notorious 4-0 loss to Manchester United to start his tenure, Lampard turned to youth and guided the Blues to a respectable 4th as well as a losing FA Cup final. In his second season, Chelsea sat in first on the Premier League table by December before a poor run of form saw Lampard lose his job to Thomas Tuchel, who would go on to win the Champions League with Chelsea later that season.
