Different tactics messes up my lineup

Hi!

I'm new to the FM-series and have only been playing FM2011 for a few days. However I do feel like I understand the most basic aspects of the game by now.

For now there's only one problem which really takes away from the experience. Whenever I create a new tactic and save it, i.e. "4-4-2", "4-4-2 Defense" and "4-4-2 Offense", it'll change a lot of the positions in my team. In example my midfielders and defenders will swap positions resulting in some of them getting a red dot since they're not familiar with the new one.

No matter how many times I choose "Save tactic" this happens. If I try to correct the lineup in one tactic it'll swap the positions in one of my other tactics...

The tactical settings are saved however, it's just the lineup that keep getting messed up.

Thankful for any answers!
you have to always choose a new line up anyways. you can save squad selection i think.

and if you don't want to always select the team yourself you can always ask a coach/assistant to do it for you.
Yeh I've noticed changing tactics messes up player positions too. Like RedArmy says saving selections is probably your best bet.
I stick to the one tactic and move players in the game if i need too - dont use the three tactic idea amd never have saved a tactic in my Fm career.

I do the same.
In order to solve this problem u will basically need to recreate your tactics using the tactic creator. And if you are using 3x 4-4-2 then the player positions will stay the same. I am not sure if it's still working but if you see which player positions get messed up you can move then around, without and players selected on the position and solve it, but i think it would be better to just recreate them using the tactic creator.
Thanks a lot for your answers!

I've tried recreating the tactics but I still face the same issue. Saving the lineup will make rearranging the players much easier, but will it affect the teams progress in getting used to the tactic (since some players won't be playing at the right position)?

Also, if I change tactics mid-game, i.e. from "4-2-2" to "4-4-2 Defense", do I have to give all the players the right positions again?
Switching to very similar tactics shouldnt have any effect at all, it's switching the formation that seems to mess up the position selections, for example when MR and ML become AMR and AML or when MC and MC become DMC and AMC.
