Inspired by Evo, I have begun my own adventure starting as a sunday league footballer.
Because this is going to be a true what-if-I-was-given-a-chance scenario I will start with almost no experience and no job and I will not cheat.
I.e.:
I will not use a scouting program
    I will not use a game-editor
I will not use a premade tactic
I will make my own training schedules
I will not save/load - even when I get angry and start throwing stuff

Ok.
First I set up the game choosing three leagues;
Denmark (I'm Danish), Brazilian(I live in Brazil), England (Good opportunities):

Yes, my computer sucks! I know!
Anyway... Large DB, Real Players, Attribute Masking, No Add Key Staff..

Created the manager:

And started the game, hopeful I would get a job right away.
That didn't happen :(

Right away I got rejected by Tamworth, Hereford and Ipatinga (Ipatinga not coming as a shock at all).
Since there where no other vacancies I had to play the waiting game (Sigh). I tried to declare interest in a couple of clubs with insecure manager positions but they all brushed me off as "too inexperienced"... gaah..
I waited, and on the 23rd of June a position became available at Nordvest FC! YES!

I didn't get that job either :(

Oh how I waited, patiently... And then!
..
I waited some more..
..then..
On the 20th of September something amazing happened!
Weston-super-Mare got a new Chairman! A Dane!
Flemming Østergaard takes the seat, this was my chance!

The joy and jubilations were endless!

Now, my chance has finally come!
I WILL bring this club into a new brighter future...
The first thing I'll need to do is to cut some of the most useless players on the squad to make room for a couple of improvements.
Since the club started out being over budget, a bit of cutting will have to be done.
I'll report back when I'm ready!

Wish me luck!
Great idea mate ;) I will be following your story.

I started in the same league and theres still a few good free transfers about in September
I really enjoy starting from low/lowest leagues as well, but usually things don't go as in real life: if you are talented some higher league teams will want you...it's usually faster/better to just stay with the same team that you started building ages ago than to move to a new one, which will be harder to stir up that your current lower one :( .
I will follow your story mate. :) And good luck.
Bacchus : I will not save/load - even when I get angry and start throwing stuff

I usually smash the keyboard instead lol :)
Good luck with your new team mate, I will be following.

Ever Forward!

Many thanks to you all for showing interest, I hope I shall not disappoint.

I started out being below the relegation line at #20..

The first thing on my list was to cut all the deadwood, luckily the training staff seemed to be in order (Or as good as they can get on this level), so no worries there.
Here's my transfer history so far (I've signed 2 players: MC Matthew Wells and DM Soeren Griepentrog, the others are the works of the previous manager)

I had to go pretty much on instinct here, having no scouts. I used my Assistant Manager as a scout since he has 7 in PA eval. and 7 in CA eval. Matthew Wells was the best player I could find and he will certainly shore up the middle of the field.
Alas, when I had already signed him and went to the press conference the press asked me if I wasn't at all worried about his injury problem. I sorely lacked the:
"Uhhh.. He's injury prone? Eerrrhmm SHIT!" button.
Well, Matthew Wells:

The teamed seemed best equipped to play an 4-4-2 with two AM's on the wings..
However, I've always preferred to play with a DM, so I had to go find one....
I stumbled upon Soeren, and he seems like a decent talent, also, it feels nice to bring a bit of Danish culture with me to my new club.
Here's his stats:

Both signings were in place before my fist game, and I didn't hesitate to plug them right in. The teams morale was in shambles and I thought a breath of fresh air was needed. Soeren and Wells were in good spirits and I hoped they would be able to liven up the rest of the gang.

My first game was against Welling, who are in last place at 22nd, even so I was tipped to lose :( !

With a team, ravaged by injuries, and a tactic that might be somewhat unfamiliar to them I didn't have high hopes either.

I set up my team, slightly worried that both of my best left wingers were injured, and so I had to start an utter rookie at the position, Shane Bower, would he remember to string his bow? I could only hope... (Yes, that IS actually the worst pun ever!!)

Well, starting the game, only a few players had "good" morale. Most of the players seemed to simply lie on the pitch screaming "I don't wanna live!" emo-style, as is the fashion.

After some 30 minutes a guy called Pugh (How's that pronounced? [P-U-K-E]?) scored and the rest of the team, who weren't already cutting wrists and listening to "Fall Out Boy", sat down and began to cry... I opened up a beer and waited for the inevitable... The half ended and I told the boys that they should relax and just go play some football, I'd buy stout for the lot of them if they came out of the game looking respectable..

..Something happened..
The guys started to dominate the poor Wellingses.. 70 minutes in Shane Bower! OF ALL PEOPLE! Hammered in a beauty from the edge of the field!
All hell broke loose!
10 minutes later I was in front 3-1 !
I had another beer to celebrate.

With my first victory in hand and morale restored, I look upon the future with renewed hope.

I'm still looking for new players though, a striker and a goalie would do nicely and once players start returning from injuries I'm sure we'll start winning on a regular basis.

That's it for this time! Hope you've enjoyed it! I did!
Good start, it's great to get a win in your first game. GK and ST huh? See if Liam O'Brien and Jack Sampson are without clubs.
I've been looking at a striker called Boto, most of his attributes are masked, but he has finishing 14 and looks all around decent.
I'll give your guys a look though ;)
Phil Younghusband or Tim Hopkinson for striker, the two Evo mentioned and also Josh Swann for the GK position.
nice start im going to start to follow you.
