If he won't agree to a mutual termination and the board won't let you terminate him due to a release clause, I think you're stuck with him. :(
whens the next transfer window? sell him on for a free in that
I would go with Tom_BcFC idea.
# Tom_BcFC : whens the next transfer window? sell him on for a free in that

ive tried selling him for next to nothing no one wants him...
Then you will have to wait untill his contract ends.
maybe offer him out on loan or send him to a feeder club
Bury his ass on reserves, don't let him play any games, and keep sending him on vacation. :D

just download the fmrte editor available to download on this website, and then expire his contract on that then release him on a free, the board wont say no...

Intresting idea
Offer him out on a free? Can't imagine teams would pass up that oppurtunity, won't get any money obviously but it's abit off the wage bill!
I'm asuming you're managing Liverpool. I think's he's 28 as of 2010, so by the time his contract expires he'll probably retire. Couldn't you offer him another contract with a earlier exp date? I don't think it'll work but worth a try.
