Vancouver Whitecaps roster issue

I am currently playing a save with the Vancouver Whitecaps in Football Manager 2022, and I have an issue I need help with right now. I have just signed Richie Laryea, and when I tried to register with him, I couldn't go over the maximum of $5 million. What should I do in this situation?
