Evening Folks.

I’m currently managing on League 2 with Scunthorpe finished season 1 in 10th not bad considering favourites for the drop. However, about to start the June period where free transfers are aplenty I wanted to create a no nonsense displinced hoof ball tactic similar to a Tony Pulis, Big Sam sort of style. Wasn’t sure the sort of roles and instructions as well as role I should be employing besides the obvious be displined, direct passing and a killer BWM in the centre.

Could anyone give any suggestions to make this?

Thank you
I created a tactic for my Dunfermline career using a 4-4-2 with a Target Forward and a Pressing Forward up top, Wingers on Attack on both side with an Advanced Playmaker and a Central Midfielder in midfield.

This works really well for me using a big Todorov (6'4) up top, though it would also depend on the instructions that you give them - keep playing around with different styles until you find something that works well for you

If youre going to play that kind of football I'd have Play For Set Pieces on then have your corner takers aim for the big man - this can give you vital goals throughout the season

Thanks for reply.

Got a few formations going on at minute 5-3-2 a 4141 and a 442 tryna find a way. Defensively we look good but we’ve lost 3 games out of 6 all 1-0 all from penalties. Can’t seem to take any of the chances we have I’ll keep looking into it!
Here is my formation in breakdown:

Back 4:
WBs - BPDd - CDd - WBs
CMs - APs
Wa Wa
PFa - TFa

Things to think about when making your tactic:

- Start by getting a formation that you like and work through how it works with your players at your dispoal
- Work through the team instructions, sometime you dont have to go intricate on everything so just work with what you think will work for you
- Sometimes you dont need player instructions, so dont add any until you find something that works for you, and even then dont add too many
- Balanced mentality can actually be more powerful than Positive in the lower leagues as it is more solid defensively but will still attack
- Try not to overthink it too much, test it out a few times and make your tweaks from there (maybe start a new save from the beginning or create an alternate save so you wont mess up your current one)

Hopefully this helps!
Any update on how youre doing with the team?
