How much is to much?

Well you negotiate... long and patiently... you only raise your bid for about 1m or 1.5m eventually they will accept you can also offer clauses and percent on next transfer (especially if player is hot prospect) that can be very usefull...

You must know when is to much but that depends on you, you must think very carefully if that player is worthy of that much money...

yes one more thing... when i bought Anderson from Man Utd (i played with Watford) in third season he was valued 9M i made an offer of 15M and Man Utd asked for 70M plus 50% eventally after long negotiatons i bought him for 22M and 20% of next sale..
show interest in the player is a good thing.

and if ur lucky then the player u are trying to buy might be 'wanted' by may clubs, and in that way they lower the asking price.

if the player is unhappy or such as well.

otherwise u just negotiate and negotiate simple as that.

u dont have to pay the amount of money it says in asking price. :)

I am surprised you negotiated - I would have told them to get bent.
