So I downloaded this at the beginning of the month as it was free from Amazon gaming. I finished my save on FM21 where I was spanking serie A regularly with Inter but lost in the final of the champions League ☹️ after 11 seasons which included spells at Hibs and Celtic before going to inter.
So starting the new game I wanted a competitive team that I could build up and after a few randomised selections real Hispalis/Betis came up.
After losing my first game to Mallorca 4.0 my team then went onto win the next 15 league games in a row
Although form came to an abrupt halt with 3 losses before picking up some better form to take me to 23 wins 3 draws and 6 losses. This leaves me 6 points clear of both Real Madrid and Barcelona with 6 to go.
What do you think will happen? Glory or failure?
I just have a feeling that having just beat Bilbao to win the cup and facing them next in the league that the game will go against me. Surely I can't win the double in my first season.
My Europa League adventure started well coming top of my group but then we were thrashed 6-2 by red bull Salzburg which was disappointing despite them clearly having a talented team.
By the way the only signings I made were Harvey Elliot on loan from Liverpool and then in Jan Alex Meret from Napoli for 8M.
For anyone interested. I played out the remainder of the season and just managed it by 2 points from real madrid. I was a little surprised as I drew with Bilbao and then went on to beat both Atletico Madrid and Barcelona. So an unbelievable season winning the double. I thought I'd be lucky to get champions league let alone win it.
So onto next season.
I was shocked that there was no prize money for winning the league.
I've lost both my main central midfielders William carvalho as he would have left for free end of season but got 25M for him and Guido Rodriguez as Man Utd 44M min release fee. Also Joaquin retired unfortunately, who was awesome last season.
I'd already lined up Tolisso on a free from Munich and wanted Vidal but he went elsewhere so I got in Sergio darder for 1.5m I also spent big near the end of the window bringing in Nico from Barcelona for 26m. I also let go various others but brought in ahmedhodzic for about 2.5m, Adeyemi for about 13m, Hlozec 7m and a right back from Real Madrid Odriozola for 7.75m. I had to ask the board to get the last one in as my budget had been used.
