Staff roles - persuading staff to carry out a non-preferred role?

The above description can be applied to a range of staff with different preferred roles - is it possible to recruit staff to your backroom team, to carry out a role that isn't their preferred role?

It is yes. Eg have recruited HOYD as a scout before. Found offering more more than is required does the trick. Doesn´t always work though.
