Manager Thoughts

Another solid month. Disappointed to go out of the FA Cup but what an effort we made to get that far in the competition. Still going strong in the league with Mullin and Palmer banging them in. We also managed to remove some deadwood off the wage bill which is always good.

An incredible first season, but only to be expected with the good feeling (and investment) within Wrexham. FA Trophy should be a breeze, especially with Banbury in the next round.

Definitely. The squad is way too good for the National League and possibly League Two if we invest well.

What a season it has been so far. This bunch of players are so easy to manage and some of the performances they've put in have been incredible. I really hope we can go the season unbeaten in the league, we really deserve it.

The end of the league season and what a season it has been. At the start I said we were too good for this league and it showed. We dominated the league and went unbeaten. That won't happen next season. Now though, Wembley and the FA Trophy final awaits.

My local side, Oldham Athletic, living up their reputation as the most depressing club in England with yet another bottom-half finish.

Wrexham added to their National League triumph by completing a league and cup double, beating AFC Fylde 1-0 in the FA Trophy final at Wembley.

Pre-Season 2023/24

The first of hopefully many to leave is during pre-season as we look to overhaul the squad.



This is excellent news. Great to see that Rob and Ryan are so committed to this club and the community.

01/07/23

Always the busiest day of pre-season as we release players and bring players in. Here is where we are at.



We've released quite a few, a lot of them weren't really earning their wage here at the club.



Liam McAlinden has also left the club and we have transfer listed the following.

Jordan Tunnicliffe
Aaron Hayden
Jacob Mendy
Sam Dalby
Jordan Davies.

We could also not extend the loans of Adam Wharton and Kyron Gordon.

We needed to bring some players in to replace those departing, and here they are.



Lukas Jenson will provide backup to Westwood in goal.

George Byers and Lewis Wing will provide competition for places in midfield with Corey Blackett-Taylor and Mark Harris doing the same on the wings.

Brooklyn Lyons-Foster adds to our defence.

If we manage to sell everyone that leaves us looking like this.



A very solid foundation to build on. The only place I'll be looking to strengthen further is the defence unless my scouts recommend someone incredible.



Not a bad 1st round draw, I'm happy with that.



Our draw in the Papa John's Trophy. Not that it's competition really care about.

Transfers



We managed to ship out a few to open up some squad places and free up some wages. Ideal.



I'm really happy with the signings we've made so far. Some of these players are League One quality. If we are able to ship some players out then we still have room in the budget to improve the squad as well.



The bookies must rate our signings as they have us as favourites to win the league!

I'm really happy with our results in pre-season. The squad is gelling nicely and I think we are in a good position to hit the ground running in League Two.

I'm trying not to read too much into this result as it was against the team that came up with us but what a start to the season. Paul Mullin was on fire!

Terrible news, scans have revealed that Luke Garbutt will be out for up to 6 months with a serious injury.

It was a tight game in the EFL Cup but we got the job done.

Wrexham to host Sunderland in the EFL Cup 2nd Round.

We went ahead early and that was that. Stevenage never really looked like getting back into the game. Would have been nice to have won by more though.

Our first dropped points of the season which is disappointing. That's only down to their keeper though who had the game of his life.

A very solid first month back in the EFL. We still have room for improvement but we'll get there. Definitely think we have a chance at pushing for promotion.

Deadline day, always a fun part of the football calendar.



We had a few go out, all for money. I'm really happy with that as they also free up some of the wage budget, not that we're anywhere near hitting it.



We also had Danny Ward come in. He's a striker/winger who will provide competition for places. Essentially a replacement for Bennett.

A good win to start the month though I was a little disappointed to concede two.

Happy with this result. A completely different 11 and we managed to beat a hardly changed Stockport side. Just shows the strength of our squad depth.
