Wrexham to travel to either Stockport or Swindon in the FA Cup 3rd round.

A dominant performance. The scoreline flatters them massively.

Another game in the league and another win. We were on another level vs Salford, we were way too good for them.

When I saw the Man City team I knew we needed a miracle. Taking the lead on 34 seconds I definitely did not expect. That was as good as it got but the lads can hold their heads up high.

Given we were playing against bottom of the league at home, I did not expect it to go to the wire. I'm just relieved we managed to sneak a winner at the end.

All a bit easy for far. The higher we get the harder it'll be. Think we could do well in League One with the current squad but any higher would definitely require further investment.

I hadn't planned on selling Colm but that money is far too good to refuse for a backup player.

We definitely were not at our fluid best in this one during the first half. After the break, however, we were back to normal and cruised to victory.

Jordan was leaving us in the summer anyway so I'm not too bothered to lose him.

We heavily rotated the side and it cost us as we lost on penalties. I can't say I'm too bothered to go out of the trophy this season as we've already surpassed expectations.

Match Information

A solid win. It wasn't our greatest game but we did enough.


Match Information

So we go out of the FA Cup in round 4. I can't fault the lads though, they gave it everything they had and nearly took Wolves, who are 4th in the Premier League, to a replay.

We weren't good yet again. I'm a little worried that the number of games we've played may be having an effect. At the end of the day though we did enough to get the win.

Now that's more like it! The difference in performance was night and day. The best thing about this result though means we are OFFICIALLY PROMOTED TO LEAGUE ONE!

Manager Thoughts

Could not be happier. What a season it has been and there are still 11 games to go!! I think I'll start giving players much-needed rest and rotate the squad a little more.

Goalkeeper Keiren Westwood joins Shelbourne for a fee of 5k.

Tranmere are the team in this league that I want to beat more than any other so I'm delighted with this result.

As I said last month, I'll now be rotating the side a fair bit so poorer results are probably to be a bit more frequent. This is one of them. I'll take a draw.

Our first-ever league loss under my management. Disappointing, but we did have four of our U18s playing.

As this game falls on my birthday, I decided to field a full side. I wasn't disappointed as we eased to a 5-2 win.

A little disappointed to lose for the first time in the league but does it really matter at this stage? All I'm looking to do now is plan for next season and part of the process is deciding who I want to keep around.

Time for our annual youth intake. Honestly, the less said about this intake the better. Absolutely rubbish.

It was the Danny Ward show at Edgeley Park. What a stunning performance from that man.

We made a few changes but managed to grab the win. Great to see one of our youngsters grab a goal as well.

Neither of these offers much in terms of a step up as they are both League One clubs. No thanks. If a Premier League side came calling I'd consider it but these aren't worth it.

We are kind of going through the motions a little bit at the moment with nothing to play for, Victims of our own success, The race for the golden boot is hotting up though with Paul Mullin tied with Salford's Jordan Hugill.

Not very happy with our performance but it's to be expected as I've mentioned. Forest Green went into the game knowing a win would seal a return to League One so they were just up for it more than we were.

Pre-Season 2024/25



So pre-season has begun and we have sold two players. I'll be honest, Rob and Ryan went over my head or the Steve Sessegnon sale but I can't blame them for the money Bristol are paying,

We did release a couple of players this year. Mainly rotation players that I'm not too worried about losing.



Coming into the club we have midfielder Jamie Allen on a free transfer.



This leaves our squad looking a little thinner than I'd like. Fear not though, we have a fair few irons in the fire so to speak.



A very tough 1st round draw but we've caused a few upsets before so you never know.



Not the easiest draw in the Papa John's. I'm looking to win this competition this season so I would have liked a better draw. We'll see how it goes.

Transfers



With the squad looking so thin, we didn't let many players go. In fact, Jacob Mendy was the only man to leave. He was out on loan anyway last season so won't be much of a loss.



The incomings though were a different story. We were really busy in the summer and managed to bring in a fair few players, though some of them are only on loan. That being said, the players we've brought in on loan are very high quality which will definitely allow us to push for the playoffs. Still not sure how we managed to convince Leighton Clarkson to join us after his release from Liverpool!



The bookies have us as high as 4th favourites for the league. That tends to suggest that we have a chance but it won't be as easy as last season.



The media on the other hand are writing off our chances, saying we'll finish in mid-table. To be honest, I wouldn't be happy with 10th. We should be pushing for the playoffs.

Finances



After Rob and Ryan's cash injection and the sale of Sessegnon, our finances are looking very good indeed for the time being. I do think we may need to look to expand the stadium soon with our wage bill growing.

Results



A really solid pre-season campaign has seen morale rise to quite a high level. The confidence in the squad going into the new season is great, I just need to make sure that the lads don't get overconfident.
