Problem choosing database when starting new career

I bought FM23 for christmas and now I have a problem.
I downloaded different kinds of transfer updates here and unzipped them into the editor data folder, like I have done for the past five versions of this game. But when I start a new career mode i can not change database from the standard "Football Manager 2023". Has anyone experienced this problem before or has any idea how to fix it so i can play with the new transfer updates? I have searched everywhere for the solution...

Just for clarity - database and editor data are two separate items. The database is the standard official data provided by Football Manager. Editor data is basically a list of changes that are applied as an add-on to the the database. So, it should be correct to select the original database but you should then get an option to select which editor data is to be applied.

Thanks for the reply and clarification. There is nowhere where I can choose which editor data I want to use. The game starts completely without the updates, even though the ".fmf files" are in the editor data folder. Very strange.

Hi, did you fix your issue? I also placed a new .fmf file into my editor data folder and tried to start a new game then change the database to include the new one, but i don't have an option to change it
