Cancelling a bonus

I have a player who is due in their current contract to double their wages after five international appearances and he is on four, the question is if I offer him a new contract without this clause do I still have to pay the original clause of the old contract?

Any help would be appreciated as I need to offer a new contract if the original clause is applicable. Thanks in advance!

That is a good question! Now, I don't know the definitive answer, but I do think the clause will be gone after a new contract.
