Hello,

Since the latest update for FM 23 everytime I start the game up it gets to the loading screen and just gets stuck there no matter how long I leave it.

If anyone can help I'd be really great full.

Thanks
Try the following steps:

1, validate your files with steam [if you didn't buy it from steam, there probably is similar options for Epic/Windows Store, but I'm not sure how]
2, remove all custom files from your user directory and restart the game. If it works after that, something you have added is causing problems.

If 2 is what leads to you fixing it the following might help:

1, try adding things back slowly and trying the game until it breaks. Do the graphics last as it will be the biggest probably. It could well be the skins however, so be sure to delete any config.xml in the root folders for things like skins etc (not in the skins or graphics downloads themselves though).
2, with the graphics add things one at a time until things work. This will be the slowest to figure out if something is causing the issues.

One final thing, if you have the FMSE editor, delete the panels folder if you have selected the option to have FMSE give you information in game, as the editor is awaiting an update that could well be breaking your game. I had similar problems on updating to 23.4 and the above steps resolved things.
Thanks for the solution.

I have same problem.(XML parsing error occurs.)

I have tried the method you taught me and it seems to work fine as long as I don't use custom graphics or custom skins.

It was working fine with them before the latest update.

Is there any way to get it to work correctly with custom skins and graphics?
Please help me with something.

Glad you got it working again.

It really depends upon what custom skin/graphics you have and which is causing the problems. It is tedious, but adding one at a time until it breaks will narrow things down. The skin might need an update perhaps. Though graphics mods shouldn't in theory cause any problems.

What you could do is make sure before adding graphics/skins is that you have cleared your cache in game. That might help matters. Beyond that I can't be much more help I expect.
Thanks for the reply.
After your reply, I reviewed the cause again and the cause was not the custom skin/graphics, but the editor data.
It seems that the editor data I was using was causing the problem.
Once I unplugged the editor data, it works fine.

Might be a file there that isn't compatible with 23.4 I guess? if you load up a new game you'll be able to check whether the files pass validation. Obviously if they're causing the game to crash, you will probably need to add one at a time and check each. Its labourious unfortuately, but sadly ime the only way to pin point a particular file.

I had similar problems with FM21 and FM22 in the past, and the previous troubleshooting steps were what I tried each time. It took me ages to find the problems each time.
