Hey!

I've been wondering... in real life more and more often we see clubs getting bought by the richest men on earth. We know that there are regular elections for chairman role throughout our game. But i've never seen situations like (manchester city, shakhtar, sunderland, leicester, etc.) happening in football manager.
Have you guys ever witnessed that in your game?

thanks and i'm sorry for my english
yes, it does happen, not so often though
i have seen in Inter and Chelsea.

Always funny to see a club been taking over by a rich chairman.

One thing i always check (1-2 a year) is at world/richest clubs.
And if something out of the ordinary catches my eye, like fulham at spot 6 or sporting club at place 9.
You know that they have been takingover by a rich chairman.

Well, I'm playing Sunderland and in my second season, I'm at the top of the Premier League with just one loss so far (but many draws). :P

Also, I've seen a number of strange things happening. Last season, Bolton finished quite high without having any takeover. In fact, they were quite financially strapped.
In one of my savegames Westham were taken over by a rich guy and gave them 100 mil in transfer funds :o
Seen that on inter in FM08 I guess. They even approached me as a new manager for the team. Had around 100M € in the game, And the chairman was from Chinese Taipei.

And yes, it's rare, and unlikely to happen to small clubs.
Once I saw that Udinese were value 500mliion euro after takeover.
Been taken over in my Saints game at the end of my third season, first in the premiership, get £100m+ every year to spend, foreground chairman who put in £174m last season and has put £44.5m in this season (September) to finance my transfers/stadium expansions etc.
He put in even more in the season before with a massive stadium expansion and clearing old debts.
Seems to like my balance to be above £40m at all time for some reason! :P
And to your own team? has that ever happened? i have a saved game with benfica and i'm begging for an "abramovich" to come on ahah... no luck with that so far
It happened to me some time back in one of my saved games...I don't remember which one, though. It was one of the games which I had started just to test out FM 2011. It didn't really make much of a difference because the new board seemed even less inclined to invest in the club than the old board. :P :P

Yes, and I was just pointing out that it need not always be a takeover that results in a good performance by a club.

Why the quote then?
