1.all the players MUST have the same version of the game
2.you, as a server, must go to preferences from the main menu an than to network.there you have some options with the force continue, the server name and its password(optional,the password of course) and a very important option, run as server witch it has to be ticked if you want the server to work.
3.after you have choose your force continue options, ticked "run as server" and gave the server its name you go now to the network option from the main menu and click new game and initiate a new game as normal.
4.after you are done and the game can continue just go to options->game status and you will have there "server ip address"(its your ip).just give your ip to your mates so they can connect.SIMPLE.


PS: not everybody can make a server.some computers cant connect to the server, in this case its not the guy who wants to connect to balme, its you, the server. GOOD LUCK.
