i had this problem when i updated to 8.0.2 with the updated version of it from 22/2/08 so i just uninstalled and updated to the original 8.0.2
Have you got the right version of FMM for your FM game
i.e - if you are using FM 8.0.2 you meust be using the FMM2.24
i.e - if you are using FM 8.0.2 you meust be using the FMM2.24
Try running fmm as an administrator. worked for me.

I've got the same problem as well. I have version 8.0.2 118048 (m.e v665)of the game and I've set fmm 2.24 to fm 8.0.2 in the options. I've tried reinstalling version 2.24 a couple of times, even downloading another version from another site to make certain. Any help would be appreciated.
fmm 2.25 is out, so try the latest version 
Cheers I hadn't spotted the new version. I've downloaded 2.25 and everything is working again.
get it to run as administrator from the properties, its a vista issue, that did it for me
