it was the day after my 20th birthday , and there was very little of interest going on in my world.
As i sat watching the beans go round in the Microwave with sky sports buzzing in the background ,
I heard that Roy Hodgeson had walked out of my long beloved football club , Liverpool FC.
I first pulled a Reds jersey over my head on my 5th Birthday , a present from my dad ,
along with tickets to see Liverpool Vs. Manchester United at the Kop stand , anfield.

Anyway , let's stop babbling on about my childhood and get to the modern day.
I took my beans on toast up to my bedroom , and sat down at my computer , and much to my dissamusement,
found my Football Manager '11 disk had been snapped. That was my day's entertainment out of the window then.
I browsed sky sports for the latest transfer stories , and moreover , to follow the search for Hodgeson's replacement.
That's when the thought came to me , a very immature idea it was , but it would kill some time...

Proud at the amount of responses in my thread on sky sports named '20 Year old Manager set for Anfield?' ,
i headed off to bed. The next morning , i awoke to the sound of my mother screaming and asking me when i was going
to get some work , something which did not seem strange or unusual to me ; my family was not very rich , and needed any extra money i could bring in from a small Part-Time job.

The next thing i knew , Three black SUVs were parked directly outside our house , a Knot was tied in my stomach...
What was going to happen ? a robbery or something ? The doorbell buzzed. if it was me , i wouldn't have opened it ,
but my mum trotted to the door and opened it. I could hear a man saying 'we're here for your son'
I hid in the corner of my bedroom , paranoid of what might happen next.
Mum then walked into my room and told me 'Those blokes downstairs want you ,
i think they said they were from some football club.'
This was about that post i had made on sky sports wasn't it , i was in trouble.

I found myself sat in one of the black cars , staring in amazement at the man sat next to me ;
it was the legend himself , Kenny Dalglish. If i was in trouble , i couldn't care less ,
even sitting next to king kenny was a moment to remember for life.
Kenny then said to me 'Think you've got what it takes to be manager , do you son ?'
I half laughed , and replied 'You can't be serious...'
But kenny was very serious.

The next place i found myself was in the backroom at anfield , speaking to new owner Tom Werner over a contract.
'i know you and your family are in a very tight financial situation right now , so i can give you a two year contract on 57,000'
'Per year ?' i replied.
'No , per week'
Without any further ado , i signed at the bottom of the paper.

I was very much aware of the heavy burden i had placed upon my own shoulders,
but it was worth it , a job which i had always dreamed of , and an overwhelming financial backing for my family.

Over the next few days , i met some of my personal heroes , Gerrard , Torres , and Carragher.
However , despite encouragemnet from staff and players , that could not stop the fans showing their disgust at signing such an inexperienced manager.

I then began a search for players ; although i had a spectacular squad beyond my own dreams , i had to get real ,
i was possibly managing one of the best clubs in europe , and if i was to reach expectations ,
some vast improvements would have to be made. So far my shortlist is as follows ;

Goalkeepers :

Not on the lookout for goalkeepers , i feel that Reiner is superb for now.

Defenders :

Could pretty much do with improving all over in defense , most notably in the center.
However , that said , i am looking at the possibility of replacing current Left Back Aurelio with a much younger and more skillfull Fabio Coentrao.

Midfielders :

Will probably play Gerrard and Maxi on the wings , with Meireles in the center , but could do with someone to sit next to Meireles. Here are some targets:
Sejad Salihovic
Simon Vukcevic
Riccardo Montolivo

Strikers :

Would love to add some firepower to sit next to torres up-front , although sorting out my defense is a main priority. Here are a few names i'm interested in :

Young Starlet Romelu Lukaku
Edin Dzeko
Oscar Cardozo
Hulk

The next update will be a short while after the transfer window , with a small update of who's in and who is out ,
will also go more in depth with my tactics and screenshots of my players.
