We’re here at Forge Road, where Bransay take on North Sunderland Reserves. A win could seal the title and promotion! We’ve got fans at Longhoughton Rangers vs Alnmouth United and Ellington Under 21s vs Berwick Town, sending us updates via text.
“Bransay lineup today is: Chay Peel in goal, Moshe Haliva at right-back, Chris Swailes and James Dodd-Thompson at the back, John Roberts at left-back, Danny Lambert on the right wing, Bob Wright and Ardelan Ameen in the middle, Ewan Forster on the left and Flynn McNaughton and Mathys Raynaud as a front two.
“Let’s get started!"

"We have just had a text from Westfield Park –
Alnmouth United have taken the lead against Longhoughton Rangers. Blaine Kellacher scores in the 3rd minute and that puts Alnmouth top of the table on 40 points, overtaking us. We need to respond here at Forge Road!"
13:19
"Another update, this time from Ella Park –
Berwick Town have taken the lead against Ellington Under 21s. Stevie Taggart scores in the 19th minute and that pushes Berwick to 39 points, into 2nd place. We’ve slipped to 3rd now - come on, Bransay, we need a goal!"
13:32
"More bad news from Westfield Park –
Alnmouth have doubled their lead. Davis Botcherby makes it 2-0 in the 32nd minute against Longhoughton. They’re running riot, but we can still take the title if we win here. Hold on, something’s happening at Forge Road… Lambert’s taking a corner, playing it short to the edge of the area… Ewan Forster’s there… HE HITS IT ON THE HALF-VOLLEY!
IT’S IN! FORSTER NESTLES IT IN THE BOTTOM RIGHT CORNER PAST EMBLETON! 1-0 TO BRANSAY! What a strike! That takes us back to 1st place with 40 points, leapfrogging Alnmouth and Berwick! The Forge Road faithful are going wild!"
13:36
"Text just in from Ella Park –
Ellington Under 21s have equalised against Berwick Town! Innocent Race makes it 1-1 in the 36th minute. Berwick are back to 37 points. We’re top as it stands!"
13:45
"Half-time across all grounds. Here at Forge Road, we lead North Sunderland Reserves 1-0 thanks to Ewan Forster’s stunning half-volley. Alnmouth are 2-0 up against Longhoughton and it’s 1-1 between Ellington and Berwick. We’re top of the league, but there’s a long way to go! We’ll be back after the 15-minute break."
14:00
"We’re back underway across all grounds after the half-time break. Let’s see if we can hold onto this lead and secure the title!"
14:01
"A text from Westfield Park –
Alnmouth have made it 3-0 against Longhoughton in the 46th minute! Ola Holmes with the goal. That puts them on 40 points, but as long as we win, they’d need to outscore us by more than eight goals to overtake our goal difference. Let’s keep pushing here!"
14:09
"Action at Forge Road - Danny Lambert swings in a free-kick from wide… it’s headed away by Field, but Mathys Raynaud heads it back into the box, it loops up, gets stuck at Bali Shotton’s feet… John Roberts steals it!
ROBERTS SCORES! 2-0 TO BRANSAY IN THE 54TH MINUTE! The left-back pounces on the loose ball and fires it in from close range! We’re in control now and that goal strengthens our grip on top spot!"
14:12
"Update from Ella Park –
Berwick Town have taken the lead again, 2-1 against Ellington Under 21s in the 57th minute! Scott Redmond with the goal. That puts Berwick on 39 points, just one behind us. We need to hold firm!"
14:16
"Text from Westfield Park –
Longhoughton Rangers have pulled one back against Alnmouth! Sol Devine scores in the 61st minute to make it 3-1. Alnmouth still lead, but that doesn’t change much for us as long as we hold on here."
14:25
"Danny Lambert sends in a free-kick… Luis Dodds pushes James Dodd-Thompson in the back and the referee points to the spot! Penalty to Bransay in the 70th minute!
“Mathys Raynaud steps up…
HE SCORES! RAYNAUD CONVERTS! 3-0 TO BRANSAY! THE TITLE IS OURS!
“What a moment for Raynaud, who’s only played five games this season - this is his first start and he’s become a hero again after his late winner last week! The Forge Road crowd is in raptures! We’re going up!"
14:28
"Update from Ella Park –
Jordan Shotton has scored for Berwick Town in the 73rd minute, making it 3-1 against Ellington. It doesn’t matter now - we’ve got this wrapped up!"
14:31
"Another goal at Westfield Park –
Sol Devine scores again for Longhoughton in the 76th minute, making it 3-2 against Alnmouth. They’re wobbling, but it’s irrelevant for us with this lead!"
14:34
"More from Ella Park –
Jordan Shotton scores again in the 79th minute! It’s 4-1 to Berwick Town now. Shotton’s on fire, but it’s too little, too late for them!"
14:40
"
Shotton’s at it again! He’s completed his hat-trick in the 85th minute - 5-1 to Berwick Town against Ellington. What a performance, but it won’t be enough to catch us!"
14:44
"
Consolation for Ellington Under 21s - Shaun Allen makes it 5-2 in the 89th minute against Berwick. Meanwhile, an update from Westfield Park –
Jenson Huddart has scored an own goal in the 90th minute for Alnmouth! It’s 3-3 between Longhoughton and Alnmouth! They’ve bottled their 3-0 lead, but it doesn’t matter - our 3-0 lead here has secured the title!"

To win the title with this group, after all the challenges and hiccups this season, it’s a dream come true. We’re taking Bransay up and I couldn’t be prouder!"
Mathys Raynaud:

Ardelan Ameen:
"I’ve played almost every minute this season and it’s all been worth it for this moment! The team spirit here is incredible and to lift the trophy with my brothers on the pitch - it’s everything. We’re champions and we’re not stopping here!"
Chris Swailes:
"At 53, I thought I’d seen it all, but this is special. I came to Bransay to help a young team and to win the league with these lads - it’s a privilege. The fans, the club, they’ve welcomed me like family."
Jamie Coulson:
"What a day for Bransay Athletic! Champions of the North Northumberland League, promoted and a new chapter awaits! From all of us at Bransay FM, thank you for joining us - it’s been an unforgettable season! Up the Irons!"
