Hello

i play FM24. I am a team (HB Køge) in the danish superliga, just moved up from 1st division(Nordic bet league).
I sign a lot of my players in youth team on youth contracts for economic purposes. But now Roma has approached to sign one of my players, I do know they can do that because of the youth contract. The problem that I don’t get anything in youth compensation like 0 kr/dollars/euro/pound. Why is that? It has happened before where i let the transfer go through to check if it came after the deal but no. Is it because I don’t have a good enough team or what? I know about compensation and don’t mind losing players if I got just the smallest amount of money but I get nothing.

hope someone can help. Thanks
Hey, yeah that’s a frustrating situation—definitely been there!

Basically, if your player is only on a youth contract, especially in FM24, foreign clubs (especially big ones like Roma) can swoop in and grab them without having to pay compensation, depending on the league and rules. It’s super annoying, but kind of mirrors real-world EU football laws.

To avoid that, try offering professional contracts as soon as your youth players turn 15/16, even if it’s just part-time. Once they’re tied to a professional deal, other clubs will either have to pay compensation or negotiate a fee. Otherwise, you risk losing talents for absolutely nothing.

Hope that helps a bit!
