Playing over the internet

I was hoping someone could help me!?!

Do I need to download any 3rd party software to play a network game over the internet with my friends? What do I need to do to get a game running? I have ticked the run as server option in the menu and my friends still cannot access it.

Please note that it will not be played on the same network.

Any help is greatly appreciated!

I think it would be good if you download hamachi and try playing with it.

just googled it, is this it? and do all the players need to download it?

Im not sure about website but http://www.instalki.pl/programy/pobierz/Windows/p2p/Hamachi.html starts downloading hamachi and all players have to donwload it.

we all have the hamachi tool and still cannot get it to work, all connected on it, we can chat through hamachi and that's about it.

I do admit i'm a novice when it comes to this kind of thing
